***Official University Ave. Firestone Thread***

So .... anyone who's going to be there Friday wanna go for a 15 minute cruise down the highway with me and hopefully tell me I'm not nuts thinking my suspension setup sux teh gianormous balls (preferably someone with a little more experience than I driving/riding various suspension setups)?

I'll even scope out 280 and nearby ahead of time for particular road sections that rub me the wrong way if somebody's interested.

The Eastbound left-hand turn lane onto 280N is my favorite stretch to test out new suspension/brake parts... 25mm adj fsb set to full stiff was an interesting one.

I can tell you now just by watching you at dctc that it's either the setup (spring rates), driving style, or the combination of both that's not jiving so well.

 

Sweet. I <3 second opinions. I can make a point of being there around the same time, too - though I think I'm also set to meet boomer around 8 for hoodies.

 

Haha. I'm sure my driving style leaves a lot to be desired, but on the highway I'm going with spring rates, since I don't really slalom on the freeway too much (not saying it never happens, lol) or plow my way through EVERY turn (again, not saying it never happens :biggrin. Not sure there's any more improvement to be had adjusting dampers, so too stiff springs is likely my problem - and its oh so close to okay, but just not quite close enough.

 

Right on... it's the unexpected slalom maneuver on the highway that I'd worry about!

I won't I'm looking at building the fleet. I'll get a mercedes or volvo wagon as a DD and the subie for my fun car. Plus the Durango is my wifes vehicle/toy hauler. :biggrin:

And it is!! And its the bounciness while driving straight down the highway (certain ones) that makes me worried for when I may have to do the unexpected highway slalom.
