    With the new light rail construction starting soon on University, any thoughts of where the new meet venue would be?. I understand that the road is being dug up and blocked already on some parts.

    NOOOOO!!!!! I was hoping they wouldn't start doing that until a little later in the year :( I'm not really familiar with the area up there. Hopefully someone knows of another great place where we can conduct our shenanigans :)

    The whole light rail system is going to seriously change U-ave for the worst. I wish I would have known that last year was going to be the last year to cruise U-ave, two lanes, car craft, etc :( The end of an era, sigh

    Yeah, it's a zoo by my office right now and it's only going to get worse! Our front loop and that stretch of Oak St between Uni and the stadium are going to be pretty much useless.

    I probably won't make it to anymore meets unless they're within 3 miles like Firestone is lol

    Porky's is probably going to close anyway, so we're losing the iconic street AND the iconic food joint.

    I go down to Uni more to hang out with you guys than to cruise or look at Civics or get mocked at Porky's, so it's not going to bother me too much if we end up having to go somewhere else.

    Iconic, yes. It's really too bad. But on the other hand, I think a new place is needed for a this new generation of enthusiasts. The question is... Where gosh darn it?

    I'm guessing it will move North into Roseville.

    The Back to the Fifties, Car Craft, etc... loop already usually stays on and around Larpenteur and Snelling. Well, at least I hope so... makes it even easier for me lol.

    I'd prefer a Snuffy's burger and malt anyway... too bad their building and lot isn't as cool as Porky's.

    Really? I thought they poo-pooed the cruisin/loitering thing there (unless you mean the saturday car show or whatever) I guess it's been oh....15 years or so since I last went down there though.

    I take my BMW to the Saturday night shows. I enjoy it. It is too bad that there aren't more late model shows. I like those too!

    Porkys is a block down from Firestone. If you're smart, you'll park at Firestone and walk to Porky's. As they aren't going to be too pleased if someone pulls into Porky's main lot with a Japanese econobox looking to park in there. Plus, when you get bored with hanging at Porky's you can walk back to Firestone and still have a spot saved.

    Ah, the imports have kinda owned Porky's for the last few years, but that's because it was never really about classic cars. It was about auto enthusiasts. Not to mention we're still pretty light on classic metal on the roads this early.

    Had a blast reclaiming Uni/Firestone with you guys lastnight! And lol at the 7-8 cars driving the wrong way on the one way! hahaha. Good turn out, had some new people...had some OG's...had some of Dean's weinerz.lol

    Next week we should pack the lot full like the good ol days. University...BACK IN BIDNESS!! wOOt!:smoke:
