At least I think he'll be ok. http://www.startribune.com/sports/wild/17447494.html Sounds like he's basically just banged up a bit.
Sheppard played dead on last night, glad he could step up and really get into the game. The Wild did play quite well, good solid hockey throughout. Hopefully Friday will have a different outcome
I feel the same way. He made a lot of high school mistakes with passing and being aware of the situation. The Smyth goal was totally his fault and I was just point out his (skoula) poor position when he scored. While you can't blame the loss on one person he certainly didn't help any. And what's up with the Wild not being able to work around body slides/blocks? The Avs did it all night and it worked everytime. I also don't think they expected the Avs to be that physical. They get beat up pretty good the first period. I wonder if they'll play Voros and Simon Friday now? Boogy did a good good cleaning up 2nd period and on but I don't think it was enough.
we played well last night. there was some stuff that we could have done better. There were alot of times that we should have shot the puck but just held on to it. the thing that got me is that at some key points we were afraid of throwing some checks. They would rush into are zone against the boards and a simple hip check would have gotten us the puck and broken up their play but nothing happened. I was happy seeing the Boogeyman out there. he was playing pretty good, it was fun seeing him play a full shift and being out there in all 3 periods. I serisouly thought Parrish died. the one replay clip they showed it looked like his head bounced off the half wall and he was out before he hit the ice. He also didnt look very awake when they moved him off the ice. I was expecting to hear that he broke his jaw in half. He is a tough guy he takes alot of jab and hits when he is in front of the goal and is always right back up so he can take those hits (unlike some people....) so when he was laying there I knew it was bad.
^^^ THIS! Completely agree on the Sheppard thoughts... He is so strong with the puck and strong on his feet. All this plus he is still learning and is only 19 years old! Oh and how about the Fridge (Todd Fedoruk)... Probably the most impactful move for us this year was giving him a chance to play when we claimed him earlier this year! The guy has clearly proven he is an asset both offensively and for his disruption of the other team's flow... Soft hands, creative passes, some shooting skill, and of course he isn't afraid to throw or take a hit! He BLASTED the Avs D-Man Finger last night after Gaborik had gotten doubleteamed into the boards! We get a couple breaks our way early on and that game probably turns out differently, but we are in for a grind all series long as Colorado has a ton of veteran talent, and guys who have been here before... Friday will be fun! Can't wait...
Of course, tonight is going to be tough. Cuz if Skoula can't play (bump leg), then we have to put Reitz in. Going to be tough to pass 30 minutes onto someone who hasn't played since march 9th. Russ
So when do we find out if Skoula is playing or not tonight? They probably wouldn't announce it eitherway huh?
Yeah, I read Russo's blog about that yesterday. As much as I like to hate on the guy, I don't want him out of the lineup since we are already so damn short on d-men. Any word on Parrish? I'm going to guess that he'll be out and Simon will be in for him. Since both Veilleaux and Radio played pretty well, I'm also going to guess that Pouliot & Voros will be scratched again tonight. ....unless they put Voros out on the blue line, lolz.
^^^ BUMPILICIOUS!!!!! I so thoroughly enjoyed that!!! HUGE win for the Wild tonight!! 3-2 in OT for the second straight game but this time in our favor!
sooo pretty sure Demitras goal was the all time best goal of the night! he has been my guy since day one! anyone else agree with me that him and gaborik make a uberly dangerous team when they are both on the ice?!
^^ Agreed, He seems to show flashes of what he can do, but then will just disappear for entire games at times... Very nice screen in front of the net on that goal allowing for a perfect post to post corner shot! Cool to see old man Carney get the game winner...
thats a good thing tho, cause he is a good player...and if you have noticed they all gang up on gaborik and leave him wide open and same with other players as well.
jesus...they totally deserved that win. they have been playing so well the last 3 games with all the injuries, just doesnt seem like they are getting any lucky rebounds at all. definitely working for their goals WOOOT oh and short goal FTW!!
This columnist is incredibly bitter about our win: (hope the link works) http://www.kare11.com/assetpool/other/08415133050_Bitter.pdf
try this one: http://www.kare11.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=507920 original article is linked in that. lol at "gooning it up." Colorado gets at least 1 cheap shot in after the end of every period. Also, Simon and Boogy would've broken someone's face by now if Lemaire would let them fight. Also lol at the PMB comment. My gf and I were struggling to stay awake last night and we both stared at each other like "Who was that? Was that really Bouchard? No. No way! Really?! Really?"
This game is bull****!!! The Wild are tired, slow, a step behind, but the refs have been very lame tonight also... Seems like every call has gone against the Wild! Every call that has counted at least... I guess we'll have to live to see another day and just get through this healthy... How about Veillieux making fun of McCloud's lack of front teeth!!!
I just got home, gave up on teh game. There is seriously some sort of conspiracy against minnesota teams. This just sucks. sounds like we managed to get one in the net. I will be amazed if we can come back to tie it. we managed to do it in the other games but not at this magnitude. Bogus is all I can say. like boogaard got a 10minute.
