Take Hwy 10 North out of St. Cloud, Lincoln Gas & Bait is 45 miles North of the point where Hwys 10 and 15 meet. Google maps shows it on the West side of Hwy 10 but its actually on the East side. It is right on the hwy. It's also a BP with no ethanol 92, so its a good place to fill up and get snacks! http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=....677429&spn=0.607552,0.793762&t=h&z=9&iwloc=A I'm getting very excited. New lights are on the Legacy. I'm working on mud flaps too. Amy
amy....I can't drive my 18" bling bling spinner wheels up there I assume. I'm brining my winters with me and will slap them on when we get there. I only need 10 minutes to swap wheels. will I have time thursday am before we hit the course?
Anyone that wishes to swap wheels can do so at the Rock Creek Store before we head into the woods. Though the bling may keep the bears away. Amy
Probably a dumb question but I signed up to volunteer and I forgot my password to log on to http://www.ojibweforestrally.com/index.php to find out. What is the time for volunteers to meet up on Friday the 22nd? And where, is it at: 1230 23rd st nw in Bemidji?
Here you go. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=....491573,-94.892349&spn=0.047556,0.154495&z=13 http://www.ojibweforestrally.com/docs/Ojibwe%20Forests%20Rally%202008%20Schedule-7-22.pdf
I am pumped to go this year!!!! I had a blast getting all full of dust last year... Nothing like cars going 100+ on gravel and watching them jump at night.
I like the night too. It's like there are aliens in the woods. You can hear them for miles, as an eerie roar getting nearer. And then they arrive with ghostly high powered lights shining through the trees, getting brighter and brighter until its blinding. Then a red glow from the brake discs as they fly by, trailed only by the fiery red of the hight flow cat under the bumper. And another, and another, and another.
serious question here folks....do we need to supply our own orange vests? Or do they even make the Course Marshalls wear anything special?
You do not need to supply your own vest, but I bring my own. Those out of the car at a control typically wear them, I seem to remember that they are supplied. The volunteer shirts have also been known to be a bright color that also helps keeps us from being run over, very helpful as we need all the volunteers we can get! Amy

I'm looking forward to the rally. I meet Pinker and Cowboy Kenny at Morrie’s Subaru, Minnetonka today. The car set up were real fun to see.
We had a ton of fun bannering stage 9 & 10 today. Man, great course so far. One of the advantages of working the rally is driving the course:yumyum: The Marshall points have excellent picture opportunities Will post some tomorrow. ..and the Polish team fell in love with Dan's (Boomer) car tonight at the hotel
We got to take a look inside the Subaru team truck today. The wall was full of parts to die for:yumyum:
Dave just deleted my post about how he walked 3 miles to pick up wine coolers. He has had 3 and can't stop talking about how big Paul Bunyan was.
Props go to Boomer for trying to stop rally traffic with me on stage 15. RallyMaster: "Block has gone off and there is a tree blocking traffic. Marshall point 249 please halt rally traffic to avoid a massive rallycar pileup" Boomer: "Can-do Net Control, we will proceed to stand in the road and flag down rallycars while they are driven in anger."
HA HA. Dan just told me someone bannered her house too:laugh: I honestly had nothing to do with that one. Here's another vitctim though....
I had a great time. Thanks to everyone especially Amy for coordinating all the bannering. I met a ton of cool people up there. Probably the most fun I've ever had with my subaru!
Sounds like everyone had a good time. Now, pics or GTFO! just kidding...but not really. Now I wish I could have gone.
easy does it there fella. Bunch of us are trying to make LSPR in October. I'm hooked! I have maybe a couple hundred videos to go through.
http://www.mnsubaru.com/forums/showthread.php?p=516232&posted=1#post516232 Link to a few of the first pics. I have just short of 700 to pick through. Plus I also posted up Carlton's pics from running sweep. He has some good pics of Ken Block's murdered car. Russ
I'm really trying to figure out LSPR right now. I'm in NH from Mon-Thu that week. I suppose I'll have to try and schedule a flight out Thu eve (and I'll be like 3 hrs from the airport too), catch some sleep on the plane, get back and drive though the night to Iron River, MI, get a little more sleep at our cabin, then drive up to work the stages and head up to Ho-town that night. Ugh, that sounds like loads of fun. Flying to Hancock would be easier on me, but a lot more expensive, and then I wouldn't have a car to get out to the woods in. Bounce any big rocks off the new skidplate Dave? Seriously try to make it to LSPR. I love OFR and the roads, but LSPR is the rally. I just can't explain how much the UP defines rally in the US.
there is nothing like a cold october morning in the houghton with rallycars idling away in the background and echoing off the hills. plus the roads up there are way too much fun to drive on even when spectating.
yeah she came to my marshall point and started getting worried there then started to get mad then told us we should have radios then apologized and took off
Skidplate? Rocks? Ohhh yes! I hit one giaganto rock saturday that i couldn't see because of all the dust. I heard the skidplate come into action and shun the rock:biggrin: thx mark!!!!
Me too. Being on call every other month sucks. My sister in law was working the rally(medical I believe)she said she ran into a few mnsubaru folks.
That's what I like to hear! (that the skidplate is protecting the car, not that you're hitting rocks! :laugh
uhh...yeah, blonde girl. Her name was??? ohhhh i know her name. damn it, i have a bad memory. Met her at the party and at the hotel.
+eleventy. Boomer knocked one into the road just in time for me to hear it BOONNGGG off the bottom of mine. Good times
Your sister was hilarious when a huge Texas ******* spent the entire time hitting on her at a spectator station. We felt really bad for her.
Im glad i put that stock Outback skidplate back on. Came over a crest a little hot and saw the big rock much too late to do anything and CLUNK. Looked later and there is a dent on the plate just below the sump. Hooray!
I worked with your sister on stages 12 and 13. She's a lot of fun She lost us driving the cobalt on the stage too!
