Ojibwe Forest Rally Aug 28-29 Now that NEFR is over we can look forward to the next race in the Rally America series - our very own Ojibwe Forest Rally (OFR) based out of Bemidji, MN. The website for the rally can be found here. http://www.ojibweforestrally.com/index.php This is the 7th of 9 national Rally America events (your chance to see all the "big" names like Block and Pastrana as well as many other talented teams). It is also the MaxAttack championship event this year. Look for a very exciting battle in the 2wd field with some of the top competitors from all over the country coming to duke it out (especially come and cheer for our very own Mark Utecht and co-driver Rob Bohn in the #83 Mustang). If you plan on spectating or working, please visit the website for details. You can also see the Ziptie Rally Team compete in its first national/regional tandem event. (Our team is comprised of MNSubaru members so come out and support us. driver - carl, co-driver - scuba_steve, crew chief - boomer, crew - dmoo, bielke, chux, idget, sniper1rfa (via phone lol)) See you on the stages, Carl Open Light #171 (SlowTI) (we are staying at the AmericInn in Bemidji)
Already signed up to work, have our hotel, and we are ready to go. I will be heading up Thursday around noonish from the cities, so if anyone wants to caravan up, just let me know. Also, if you plan on going, make sure you sign up to work. As the rally gets more popular, the spectator stages get more and more crowded. Like I heard people had to walk almost a mile down the road to get to the stage. If you work the rally as a marshal, you will have your own private corner to hang out on. Russ
I plan on coming up just need to verify theres nothing conflicting as far as work goes for that Thursday and Friday
I wish the shakedown stage was free lol. At least it looks like the entry fees are a bit lower than what I saw for last year
If you want to help banner on Thursday, we'll likely meet up by my house South of Motley that morning around 8 or 8:30 a.m. (I haven't decided which yet). It's a great, easy going day setting up the stage roads for Saturday's stages. I think we were done by 3 or 4 p.m. Time enough to hang out at the practice service area, get dinner and go to the Speedway to see the show and get some autographs. Send me a PM if your interested in bannering on Thursday, August 27th. The more people we have on Thursday, the quicker it goes. Not to mention Hot Carl swiped most of my Thursday crew and turned them into a rally crew. I could really use the help Even if you can't make it Thursday, we will also meet up at the Bemidji Curling Club Friday morning (I'll set a time once we get closer and I check what I said last year) to head out and banner Fridays stages. Then Sunday a.m. to help de-banner. Any or all are greatly appreciated. You can definitely help banner and do other jobs, such as time controls or marshalling. Check out this link to get a description of many of the volunteer positions http://www.mnsubaru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17532 Worker information is here: http://www.ojibweforestrally.com/workers.php with the link to register at the bottom of the page. Thanks, Amy
Hey, he was doing the best he could. What was he, like 7? If you ever want another shot of your car again at Rally or RallyCross, be carefull, his dad is one of the best photographers in MN. Kidding aside, kids can volunteer with their parents. Amy
I scolded Kelly at LSPR for teaching him and his sister drinking games at the awards banquet... with water of course. Amy
I think by time the event ended, they may have been a bounty on his head.:ugh: I am not much for being yelled at, and when the kid can't even drive, I don't need his assistance on telling my how to drive. Russ
I will be there, crewing for Mayhem, of course! Brent will be heading out to Marshal and may be willing to help banner on Thursday. I am looking forward to the weekend. It ought to be a lot of fun! Carrie
I'm planning on coming up with ricetiva and working too... unless actually end up getting a new job and they dont give me that fri off... I've very excited to come and finally see a rally in person...
make decisions soon otherwise you will find all the hotels are full! it seems like rally attendance this year has been very good at the RA national events (although many of the other races are closer to a major city). Hopefully there is a big crowd out for OFR
I will be coming up again. I was going to be working, but just now got the shock that school starts a week earlier then it has before. I will just have to come up and stand behind the yellow tape again .
I'm gonna have to call in some favors at work, but it's a 60% chance that I can be there Friday morning, after driving all night.
If you have the time to stand at a spectator stage, you have the time to work. If nothing else, just work one day. You will not, you don't exist. Does ip check....... Russ
I would like to help banner, but I don't think I can take 2 days off work. So I will probably leave Thursday around 5.
You know this sucks...now I am way too excited for Ojibwe when its a whole month away...plenty of time to figure out how to plan Carrie's 30th in lieu of the Sat. night banquet. WOOT WOOT!
You can still help banner on Friday morning. We'll be meeting up at the Bemidji Curling Club that morning, I haven't decided meet up time for Friday yet. Amy
That's what they tell me. Check out is weekend after Corcoran. Other wise known as I get to drive the roads before you do. But I get yelled at if I go too fast.... Amy

I think we are planning on leaving thurs night, idk how full of a car we have (since KA-T_240 is a wuss and not riding with anymore, lol)... Ricetiva is the person driving so it's up to him....
