I can't either...stupid bike shop..i don' even know why i work there, it's not like I'm there for the money:laugh: I plan to go up tomorrow night, friday, and saturday
Yeah! What he said! Especially because it gets in the way of the Codriver call. Did I tell you there is one the Tuesday before Ojibwe? Might be worth taking a break at work to listen in. Amy
This is going to be a good time. 2 weekends away, short work week, a cabin to myself, and a day full of fishing on sunday.
so wheres everyone staying? We're in the Holiday Inn Express...think every hotel is booked full! This weekend is going to be awesome
lol nice, we'll be right across the street. Lookin forward to meetin everyone. btw- will rally america send emails when they assign volunteer positions? Im registered but don't know what position I've been given...
Holiday inn express myself. As for worker assignments, nothing has really been assigned yet. Usually they notify the sweep, medical, radio operators before hand, but if you are just marshalling, Bob will give you the assignment once you check in Friday morning. That way, when people flake out, they will know right away. If anyone is interested, I can email Bob and see if all the MNS peeps can work the same stage. Russ
do you really want them all on one stage? i wouldn't lol. i mean, we need to have some competent people assigned to the stage
^this is my first rally so Id consider myself "incompetent" lol and I signed up to be a course marshall.
this is my first rally as a course marshall, shouldnt be to hard just watch your section and make sure no people and or animals are on the course
MY FIRST YEAR AS AN OFFICIAL registered course marshall, last year I just showed up and they let me "work a corner" I felt so dirty afterwards, I had to go back to the hotel and take a shower....
last year at LSPR we could hear an Open Class car getting real close...and just seconds before the car rounded the corner a flippin deer jumped onto the road. maybe a second before the car came into site the deer jumped off the road and into the ditch... If you see an animal on the road DON'T go chasing it....leave it. Better for them to get hit then you.
I think it is also importent to read the reminder about the ticks. it is on the spectators section at https://www.health.harvard.edu/news...e/Recognizing-and-avoiding-tick-borne-illness sounds kinda geeky... and kinda hard to stay away from tick habitat when you are standing in the middle of a forest. I mean really, I think the most importent thing to do is preorf a tick check back in your hotel room. I know it says "Womens health", but women are also human and share alot of traits with male humanoids, so I figure this is good reading. They may be more likley to atract ticks for Many reasons, most are icky.
Try spraying your clothes with Permethrin spray. You can find it at most sporting stores. It is based on the Chrysanthamum plant. If ticks crawl across it they die! We used to use it when we went to the Boundary Waters. Works like a charm. Just be sure to spray your clothes when they are NOT on you and let them dry before putting them on. I was thinking more of keeping an eye out around the woods and tree lines so they never get that far... i would never run out on to the course F that let the deer take it.. reminds me of these great vids
Keep people from entering stage while race is running. Lots of locals around there on four wheelers and there are lots of trails so you will be placed on one to make sure that they dont enter. All you can do is ask them not to, let them see the cars fly by and usually will turn around and leave. they dont want to be road kill either. If they do enter the course you throw a Red cross and have to explain to pissed competitors why you stopped the race
So where are you staying, Dave? Just kidding... I'm so excited. I have so much work to do sending out e-mails to Friday Banner volunteers and packing. Amy
im excited for this! and im also excited to see what rally america brings to the car show this weekend too here in fargo!
don't you fret man....everyone already knows you wear panties why the hell did you think i signed on as your co-driver!?:yumyum::laugh:
