ours has gotten too deep. we ran the same layout too many times in a row. the field has now become less than ideal for competition with the huge ruts. it needs a heavy duty road grader to get reid of it as well as at least 2-3 passes with a plough, disc and drag. then probably sit for a year to allow grass to grow and the dirt to settle.
As Greg says, it's key to keep from getting the courses dug in too deep. Once that happens, the site becomes effectively useless for us. This has happened, and without maintenance, it can take years and years for the surface to settle out enough to be usable, much less ideal. Cannon Falls 1 is, in a way ideal in terms of long term use. Because it's an actively farmed field, it gets plowed and groomed and our courses get smoothed away. Because it's a soybean field, the surface never gets really torn up in chunks like a corn field would. The Pease site has the potential to become too rough, so I'm going to be working with the landowner to try and do some grooming of the surface. He's an amazing guy, but at 87 years old, it might be a bit much to ask him to grade our course. Which causes me to mention that if anyone on here has significant experience operating heavy machinery, drop me a PM sometime...

I like it...RallyCrossDressing...that is like a before and after on Wheel of Fortunue. I think that would be fun to incorporate into the last RallyCross. Timing and Scoring get to be the judges. Amanda and Mary and I get to have FUN:biggrin:

How would I tell the difference with Carrie? Plus, I think Amanda wants to see Carrie all gussied up and that kinda does it for me. Amanda knows the outfit I want her to wear. I wonder what the chances are of Grandpa watching the kids????? I really want to run. But, I cannot if kids are there.......then again, the suspension...we will have the better stuff, right??? I would hate to be the one to ball up the raisin...but Mark has assured me that the roll cage is strong and will protect all occupants. Not that I would drive it hard enough to utilize that. I drive like a girl.
