so...coming up from Robert St turning onto Uni going west, I went WOT.....boost rolled in and like "CRUNCH!" Serisouly it was like CRUNCH!!! My RPMs shot up and it was a little shaky until no more pull. I knew what happend. So I stuck her in 3rd and drove the rest of the way. This wasn't a WOT run going 1st into 2nd, this was in 2nd gear, on load, and WOT at 2500ish RPMs. SO.... time to look for a Outback tranny. Unless I will just put in the gears from my L tranny onto this one since my L tranny hasn't given up yet. hA! Same gearing! muahaha Actually.... I can press out the 3.900 pinion gear and put the 4.111 onto it and then VOiLA! 244ft lbs of torque too muchie?
ya, I still have my L tranny in-tack. The gears are still fine. My L/RS tranny are the same gearing, so all I'm just going to do is swap pinion gears and the 3-4 shift fork then I'm all set to go! muahaha!! I know there IS an AWD 5spd tranny at Upull. It is 4.111 as well...but gearing is longer 2-4th....
Actually if I cound all the trannies that I have..... '93 FWD 5spd (sitting in the corner) '99 Impreza L 5spd (opened up) '00 2.5RS tranny (currently on car) ....and a couple of differentials laying around
