So far this one seems to fit both themes the best. But could you do me a favor?? Maybe make the MNSOC a bit heavier and make the swoosh/state a shade or 2 darker?? The MNSOC doesn't have to be as heavy as the outline, but something between the 2. I can also get the html color code for the dark grey background if needed.

Thanks again for all the work so far.

So far I really like the redesign! My one critique at the moment is with the banner. mctenold's design shows a Subaru Logo watermark but you can't see it in the banner with the darker background. I like the dark banner, so I wonder if we could fill in the rounded rectangle of the banner with white?

Also, when you roll over the envelope icons by posts the rollover textbox is blank.

So far I haven't seen any other issues that haven't been mentioned... looks great!

I agree about the logo. I thought it might look nice if we use a 50% transparent white fill in. That way it just lightens up whatever color is behind it.

And we are still looking for banners and icons. I know some people are not fans of the icons on the dark theme and those are some of the ones that I am looking at changing.

For the icons/banners, do you have PSD files we can access for any of them?

Sorry, I totally missed this. There is no psd files for the site. I can get you the actual icon that is being used, but at this time VB has not released any kind of psd files.

And I am still looking for this stuff. I am still serious about getting a professional to create a nice banner. Not that mctenold didn't do a outstanding job, it is just nice to have a couple of non-car options.

My only complaint with the current one is that the forum is wider than the header. The links at the top don't even fit inside it.

not with a wide screen monitor ;)

It's hard to make banners where it won't look weird on someone's setup, so we just try to make one that works for most.

I have a widescreen. The larger I make the window the more the links move away from the banner. I was just wondering if there was a way to "fix" the right and left sides, and have the banner grow from the middle.

But as you said, I understand that it will look different on everyone's. Just my $0.02

The banner is located on the left side and the links on the top are located on the right side, so they will go away from each other as the screen gets wider. The reason for that is the VB has installed 2 locations to the right of the banner for additional artwork/advertisements. The site is set up as a fluid theme, so as the screen width changes, the location of everything on the side also changes/grows. There is little to no fixed width stuff located on the site. If I made the site fixed width, then you really start creating problems. The screen is too wide for small stuff, you end up with lots of wasted space on widescreen stuff, there really is no winning at that point.

Can someone please design some topic icons? I am speaking of the things beside posts that indicate if posts are new or not. These new ones are confusing as hell. I spent a good couple of hours yesterday digging through what free vb themes I could find (there aren't many heh) to get new buttons, and no luck. I can't make these, if I did, I'd just steal them from some php theme or something. So if you can make them, please do so :)

pm'd WRX1. In addition, if you have any large format MNSOC logos like the stickers, it would be much appreciated!

I don't see the problem with the current icons. Grey = not popular (yet), Red = popular if there's letters sticking out of the thing there are unread posts, and if there's a green arrow that means you have replied to it.

    :hsugh:

Also gotta add: LOVE the "theme fast switch" menu or whatever you wanna call it. That thing is great.

Aegis - What is it you dislike about the current icon set? I could work on something, but I would need some details.

I don't mean to complain, but if you're looking for opinions on banners, I think the last one with the 5 cars looked nice.

If you only want to do the bare minimum pieces of flare, that's your choice. We recommend you "do" more...
