Why wait? You buy now! ;)

Even though i don't have an 06 I was keeping up with the thread on enginuity. Pretty odd with the other timing compensation table. Still, now that it is fixed I fear for my car. Those 2.5s are too strong as it is! :(

You should've already been scared before that. You better get some larger injectors if you want to keep up with my stage 1 car right now.

Once I put on the turboback, you better think about a bigger turbo, lol.....

figured i'd post this. i'm sooo sick of enginuity haters that dont know what the **** they are talking about. here is a little clarification....enjoy because jared doesnt usually respond to this crap but for some reason he did on this one. basically its alittle bit about the history behind ecutek making up bs about enginuity.

reading just page nine will be fine..

As an employee of the technology field, I'll tell you one thing. Opensource benefits everyone. Both in private and professional areas, its benefit cannot be overstated.

In my job specifically, we use three opensource programs. Each that save us thousands of dollars a year. Not only do they operate better then private programs, they have content upgrades regularly that improve functionality for all users, not just specific groups of users, and not just to fix bugs. If you have ever used linux, you know exactly what I'm talking about.

I'm not sure I can even overstate how happy I am that I found openecu, and how proud of am of those guys over there. I just hope they know that their work is appreciated!

I'd consider doing a swap this weekend if I had a set of modded stockers. But then I'd need to swap out the fuel pump, too. And before you know it I'll be even more in the hole... :(

Open source software is really the way to go. If you haven't tried it, give it a shot, its free =) I use linux SuSe at home, and wouldn't have it any other way.

I think I hate MS so much because I have to support it all day at work....blahhhhhh

I'll roshambo you. I go first!

And I am reading the thread posted on wrxatlanta. WTF? The guy from EcuTek claims that the titles they use are original and that openecu copied them. What an effing joke! Does he know what Subaru labeled those tables as??? Maybe EcuTek was the original copier...

Gee, all those x and y values that corresond to Engine Load and Igntion Timing and Timing Advance. What to call them??? Maybe we should make up new words and phrases that are overly long instead of simple and descriptive. That sounds like the typical British way of doing things.

Better yet, I don't drive a car. I "operate a personal transportation device powered by an internal combustion engine".

I'm just getting started with openecu and I have a question maybe someone could answer
    Warning - extremley n00b question

In ecuexplorer from the pull down menu > Options>ecuFlash>MODEL>

Should I select USDM or non usdm seeing that my car wasn't manufactured in the US.

hey josh, if you're gonna flash your car, why not use ecuflash from openecu.org?

Thats what I'm doing, I was just wondering why it has that option in ecuexplorer for ecuflash... Now looking at it I guess it doesn't really matter

    this doesnt make sense...

you use enginuity to do the actual tuning, then you use ecuflash to put the data back on the car.

    Yeah, he was.

I'd suggest using the latest version of ecuflash for flashing -- ecuexplorer has a very old version of ecuflash bundled into it and more than likely won't support the newer v3 tactrix cables. Also, it won't work on any of the DBW cars (I think, or at least not all of them).

    enginuity = tuning
ecuflash = putting new tune onto ecu
ecuexplorer = logging your new tune

sooner rather than later a little birdie told me you will only need enginuity to do all of this.

Well I'm mainly looking for them finally getting interpolation/smoothing to work and then some improvements to the logger. Have you heard when they are going to get LM-1/LC-1 integration finalized? The analysis portion of ecuedit is nice, but I already have a few spreadsheets that do all of that anyways.

The Subaru logging software from Innovate is a gigantic hunk of monkey poo. lol.
