Something is wrong with the clutch or transmission on my son's 08 Impreza in St. Cloud, and I'm in the cities. One option would be to have it towed locally in St. Cloud but he's new to the area and we don't know any shops. I'd like to put it on a trailer and bring it here, but U-Haul car trailers aren't designed to haul immobile cars (no winch). I guess I could pull the rear driveshaft and put the front wheels on tow dolly but I've read some confusing posts on that subject that seem to imply you can disconnect the drive shaft without actually removing it. My only experience with driveshafts is from the old RWD days and that doesn't sound possible to me at all. 1. A straight-shooting shop in St Cloud 2. Rent a trailer with a winch (where?) 3. Dolly it with rear driveshaft removed I guess I go with #3 unless someone can suggest #1 or #2? Thanks
Well, there is always the Subaru dealer in St Cloud. And who knows Subarus better? I do live in St Cloud, but have only been here for a few months and have no experience with local shops. Plus, I haven't owned a Subaru since 2016. Good luck.
Subaru dealer Second shift autowerks (buddy of mine's repair business, mitch braun) Otherwise pushing a car onto a uhaul trailer isn't as bad as it sounds. I did it with all of my project cars living in st cloud for 6 years.
320-293-8033 227 19th Ave N in St Cloud For Second Shift Autowerks...if you can believe my search results.
Thanks for these suggesti0ns, the dealer and the shop are both only 6-7 minutes away so now I'm thinking tow strap and 4-way flashers
I thought it looked like a residential neighborhood, but it looks like commercial across the street. Hard to tell from a satellite view when all you can see is a roof.
I wish I had read these address updates yesterday before we left LOL. But we got 'r done, with a little extra creeping around St. Cloud on the tow strap. Thanks again
