Can anyone recommend a optometrist who would write a letter or whatever is needed for slightly darker tint. There was a very old thread but I did not see any names of recommendations. Cheers, Aussie
Just do it and deal with the ticket. I have had dark tint on my car for 4 years and haven't had a problem. It's like speeding. You might get caught, or you might not get caught.
You won't get a name and number, just do it illegally or walk away from the idea here. I'm sure MNSubiez could give you ideas, but you won't find them here.
Seriously. The last thread didn't have recommendations in it because it's dumb as hell to ask for them. Just ask your damn optometrist. If he/she won't do it, just eat the fine if you want tint. Gotta pay to play.
There are some people like myself that get a script for this because we have real medical issues, please don't ask people to provide info like this to water down the the seriousness of some of these issues because you don't feel like paying a ticket. While I agree that tint makes cars look better, and can be helpful for many other reasons, unfortunately it is what it is.
On top of all of these reasons, these threads are asking people to throw the eye doc under the bus by posting their info publicly (using your mostly anonymous login)... which is also not cool.
In addition, the last optometrist that was known around here to give out fraudulent prescriptions for tint also lost his license for exposing himself to his patients. Is that the sort of doc that you want to deal with?
I am one if those people. Light sensitivities suck. I want my windshield tinted badly. Probably just going to get er done at some point and deal with the consequences
Plus I hate that I can't make eye contact with drivers that have phucking limo tint on their front windows just so they can look cool...or whatever the phuck the new word currently is...stick your illegally dark front window tint in the same bodily orifice as that dumb as hell taillight tint. And get the phuck off my grass!
That's why you roll the window down nice and slow so they can see you doing it, but make sure you don't break eye contact once its made.
In somewhat seriousness, does anybody else have some sort of light sensitivity? It's crazy to me how many people just drive around with their brights on all the time, even in the middle of the day.
New cars are too complicated for us old people. It's simple, we just can't find the controls. Thanks for your understanding.
I do have light sensitivities. I am hoping to tint my windshield at some point. Tickets...just ain’t care.
I work in IT, anything above a Thinkpad 50% brightness is blinding. luckily i work from home or leave before the sun rises and get home after the sun sets. #Vampiresarereal
Which is saying something because Lenovo is not known for choosing bright panels for their Thinkpads. I can relate though. My Thinkpad is rarely above 20%.
I never thought of that. My phone doesn't show a percentage but I'd guess based on the slider for the brightness it's never above 10-15%.
Wouldn't tint be that much worse then at night? I don't have any sensitivity to light, but I always hated driving around in illegal tint on my Eclipse at night. It was like driving around with blinders at night.
