Hey guys new to the forum here. I've got an 02 wrx that I bought back in october to use to haul the new baby around and be the new daily driver. I've never sat in the front passenger seat. But I've always had people tell me that their feet are cool when the heat is on full blast, hottest setting and blowing out the floor vents. I never really thought anything of it. but I have always felt a draft of cold air here and then when my hand is resting on the center counsel. Well the other day I reached my hand down and realized that the vent down there only blows cold air! I haven't had a chance to check it out my self yet, but I was just trying to get an idea as to weather this was a common occurance or if I'll be diggin' around the dark with no flash light. I think this is the right forum for this post. Thanks for any insight guys!
I dont know if its common yet but, I have heard of this from three friends. Two being Subaru Techs and one being my Girlfriend with the same problem. The blower motor case has either a crack or is broken and the cold area is escaping before the heater core.
If it was the blend door wouldn't it affect both driver & passenger sides? I would expect two blend doors only if the car has dual temperature climate control.
