Argh. Not quite the right location, didn't have austinpike's original with me and guess at the exact location. Think I should have been on the East side of the mall, not the west. If you guys think it's close enough, I'll post over in the main thread and put up my location too.
yeah, the ramp on the opposite corner of the mall gives you a clearer view of the construction. Any votes on "close enough...?" I suppose my exact location was a bit ambiguous.
I'd say it's your location, so your call. Oh, and I always forget that there is raised parking (and hence rails) on the west side too. So I kept thinking it had to be the west, and I didn't have the photo to doublecheck. I hope you say yes because I've got a cool location for mine already shot. It's kind of a mixed difficulty one, because if you ever saw it, you'll know it instantly, but it's a bit obscure, and even people who have lived < 1/4 mile from it may never have realized it's there.
yeah your call, but we know he had the right cranes in the background of the shot so I'd say yes my guess now is that it's the rosedale mall
Actually, I think those cranes that you see are building the new hotel on the west edge of the Galleria. The new Target is 99% done and there are no bg cranes there anymore.
Since I started the tagging, we'll say its close enough for the sake of getting cruising on some more locations. That was a hard tag, so props to finding it! I'm pumped to see what the next one is vector!

What is this Minnetonka creek you speak of? There is a Minnehaha creek in Minneapolis. I might live very close to it. I may be lazy, and may not have gone very far out of my way to take a photo, but that's all just theoretical.

That's right the New guy got it! I live 4 blocks from the Water Tower...I had no idea it was there, but my Fiancee did. I'm running out now to get a new tag spot. (My digi cam was out of power, else I would have posted them together)

Exactly! If you live in the neighborhood, you'll never even know if unless you for some reason drive right by it. But you can see it at night from the west shore of lake Harriet (where I first saw it), which is quite a ways away, and it's such a distinct landmark that pilots landing at MSP use it to line up (and then fly over my house, damnit!). I probably live ~1/2 mile from it. I stopped there on my way to tag Southdale.
that tag is sick! that place looks great. i might go there just to take a look at it sometime. This was the idea of phototag. What's cheap about it? You tagged it, you pick the next. Doesn't matter if it was easy for you or hard, the real point of the game is to keep getting new places for people to try and find.
i'm not sure anyone will know my spot that's why i have another angle without moving my car that is a LOT more revealing, but that is a landmark not just some random building
