im probably gonna get my throttlebody, intake manifold, and header done...but it will probably be more towards the middle of summer.

Is there any way this could get done in one day...cus i cant really go without my daily driver...and im assuming you dont have a 99 rs manifold layin around

there is absolutely no way this could all be done in one day. If i started on friday, i could work straight all weekend and have them done by sunday evening.

if you wanted we could just do one at a time if thats easier for you.

k...well my header should be dropped off at my door sometime today, when i get the money i can drop that off. One at a time sounds good to me...also do you have the tools to take stuff off, for example my throttle body so that i dont have to take it off and find a ride.

oh, and would coating my CAI piping help keep the air even cooler. I figure i might as well keep everything as cool as possible

coating the cai is in the same boat as the intake manifold, you'll either need a dispersent or a blanket. I'd suggest a thermo-tech blanket for you charge pipe.

i have the tools to take a tb off.

sorry for all the n00b questions...but im having a tough time figuring out what needs to have heat disperesed from it and what needs to keep the heat in it...and why? What ive gathered so far is that exhaust components want heat inside to piping for increased velocity correct?

Now, things like the intake and intake manifold want heat dispersing coating because you DONT want the heat to stay in the piping...right?

by the way, thanks for all the quick replies!

You actually port a turbo while it is still together? LOL, don't you think that is a little risky for the owner of said unit?

I'm sure there are ways to do it properly without problems. I guess the owner will soon find out how it performs.

If it is yours Kelly take it apart and clean it! All it takes is one shaving in there the cause contact with the housing and it will be a slow death from there. Is it worth the risk on a new motor?

all inlets and outlets are completely capped off. then i spent a good 20 minutes with a blow gun getting anything that may have gotten left behind out. i havent had any problems with this before.

Wow, lots of quick reponses, I'll have Mike take a good look at it and do whatever he can do to make sure everything is clean. I trust Justin and I know he would be really sad if my motor went kerplunk. Thanks for the advice :) and I'll do what I can to make sure everything is A OK :)

    I know :)

The best part is that everyone was so caught up with Erik and Rich's builds that mine didn't matter. It was quite nice to be honest. But how many people will read this post and care? Maybe 5 ;)

    For Sale: massive ported/polished/coated TD04

Like the title states. Ported, polished, and ceramic coated TD04. Turbo is from an 04 WRX. Brand new porting and coating. Quickens spool up, improves acceleration, and shifts entire torque cuvrve to the left.

$450 and i will buy your core back for $150 if you wish, coming to a total of $300 if you send back your stock td04 turbo. A cheaper alternative for similar gains.

    Thanks!!

Free bump for Justin. Justin wrapped my downpipe for me last nite and I must say the work looks absolutely beautiful. Some pics were taken and once they are posted here I think they will speak for themselves.
