Another option for our tranny's guts? Why not.

    Stronger than PPG's and about a 1000 less? +123

My only gripe would be the straight cuts, not a fan of the gear wine on a DD but we'll see what happens

Why does it say "virtually unbreakable" and then say "good for 400-450 hp"?

I would consider them as an option vs. PPG gears and like it when there is at least some competition out there. If the ratio's are good these gears might be pretty awesome for my autoX car. Hopefully they come out before I need a new transmission built and hopefully they will be able to stand up to the abuse of LC.

Straight cut first and second with helical 3-5 wouldn't be so bad would it? I never ridden in Jason's car so I guess I wouldn't know. Carbon syncros sounds interesting. Gears are pretty straight forward to design, but the syncros are where the "art" is. They are the tricky part to design.

Do you cruise much in 1st & 2nd gear? I have zero experience with straight cuts and was just curious...

Notice that until the exhaust pipe is facing the camera, you can't hear anything but the gears.

Jason's car is extremely loud, even inside it.
The gears, the exhaust, everything. The only word that describes it is "cacophony"

I'd wait till other people have jumped on them and tested them for quality. I have a set of WRX helix 264 cams in my basement that need minor machine work done to them for them to fit into a set of WRX heads. Helix isn't exactly top quality. And gears are kindof a precision thing. I honestly think Helix should step back and fix the Camshafts before they start diving into another product. Unless they have fixed them, I never really checked.

Ya I would never buy these gears until alot of people run them first. I just got a Helix d/p and its very nice quality wise.

Yeah, the downpipes are fine, they've been making those for years. But they jumped into camshafts and Gruppe-s gave them their blessing, then it turns out a bunch of them are crap. I'd just keep an eye on the gearsets.

That depends though. Depends on what you do with said car, and the powerband. For skeet racering and frumrollz you are definitely correct.

I want the 6mt dogbox. Flat foot shifts with 6 ratios would rock.

I would have to say the only thing the six speed is good for is road racing and auto cross.

True. That's why I bought one. Plus, I would have had to either get a WRX case or Tleg case to use PPG's. The gearset for the Tleg starts at $5300. Ultimately I will have a 6 speed dogbox but it won't be this car.
