Just had to put up some better pics, instead of in my garage and at work. Rain washed away some of the dirt from last time.
Piddster, is that your H6?? If so, where did the exhaust replacement start? Header, last cat, etc... Is there droning on the highway?
I like the way my 4 cyl subaru sounds, especially after and custom 3" tbe with magnaflow mufflers and up and dp. I turn off my music and open my window and moon-roof whenever its nice out and just listen to it. Too bad its in the shop(Devoted Auto) with a cly 3 misfire code. Hope its something quick and cheap like a spark plug or fuel injector and not burned valves. You should come ride in mine to see how it sounds compared to your H6 but after its out of the shop. Love the popping sound whenever I take my foot of the gas. So nice, I miss it already Yours is nice too, sound kinda like my brother g35, might be the automatic trans, I don't know, Yours still sounds good though BTW Where is there still snow in Mn?
I wish that i would have done the H6 3.0 swap into my bugeye instead of the 2.5L. Or the 3.6...mmmmmmm.
All I did was replace the muffler with a Magnaflow 12256 with a custom mandrel bent and welded tip so it tucked up into the stock muffler cavity nicely, and replaced the goofy stock silencer after the Y with an 18" Vibrant bottle-style resonator. I'd like to get the OBX headers, but I feel the money is better spent on my hotrod (Subaru). There is absolutely no droning on the highway. She is actually very quiet if I don't get on the throttle. This is the perfect setup for what I was looking for; no drone, quiet when I want it, and can hear it when I want it. Opening up the cats would make it sound even better, but most likely at the sacrifice of low throttle volume. Don't get me wrong; my two other Subarus have four cylinder engines. I have a build thread here named "T-Leg 2.0", IIRC. When she ran last with the GTY2871R, it sounded great. Still, I would love to have this motor fully dressed with my GT4088R/GT3782 AVNT and keep the equal length sound. Otherwise it would sound like the Perrin H6 car. As far as the snow goes, I made the video in January so that should explain it. I've been avoiding forums for at least a year and a half.
