    direct quote from him in a PM on mnsc after having his car towed to white bear after it wouldnt start one morning, btw its an 04 sti:

    "Alright **** just hit the fan. White bear subaru says my motor has locked up and failed. They also say that I need to prove all my maintenance records including oil changes. Problem is that I don't have proof of them as I usually did the changes on my own and haven't kept receipts. I need your advice as to what I should do. If you could talk to your manager and see if he could get me the warranty claim passed without the proof of maintenance that would be a life saver.

    Anything you can offer is appreciated."


    Now I am not one to mudsling, but this is just unacceptable, the engine wasnt "locked up" IT NEEDED A NEW CLUTCH SWITCH!!!!! A+++ diagnosis. he'll reply to this thread soon and give you the full full story, but he wanted me to post about it.

    car: 04 sti, mods, recirc bov, the ONLY reason i posted this is because he was completely outraged and was ready to walk away from subaru forever. sometimes a second opinion is what you need.

    Did he ever get it fixed? Curious...how long ago was this incident? Hate to see a suby owner get creamed when the diagnose is far from the fact.

    Ok I know you guys are going to hate on me and I sound like a total newb but, I am actually getting a little freaked reading all the stuff posted on here about relativley new cars breaking down and stuff. This is my first suby and I hope I don't have these issues.

    I don't hear much about LGT or Spec Bs having issues...usually STi or WRX. Subarus are still in top 4 most reliable with honda and toyotas...you'll hear more of the bad than good (not about Subarus) but how dealerships handle each car/customers...So don't worry Whipsack your fine...

    it is pretty bogus...

    I don't like taking my car to dealerships unless I realllllllly need too...then I just ask a ton of questions about what they say needs to be done. Some people are really helpful and cooperative...others just try to screw me over

    Is their a deductible? What plan is it? That sounds like a classic plan...You want the GOLD SAS...Make sure they quoted you right since your car is a Turbo...I believe for Turbo their is an extra $300 pack they charge...But just check with your finance guy where u bought it...
