for sure. i need to go ship a sheeet ton of stuff right now but after that i may stop down to the fabric store that jason recommended and pick some up. i should just get enough for the entire roof panel too.
i dont have any of the stuff anymore, but i guess i can pick it up... fiberglass cloth, resin and hardner, particle board and some glue is really all thats needed
that would be awesome man..cause i have no idea what i need and where to get it. let me know how much it is roughly going to be and i'll give you the go ahead to pick the shiznit up
omg i want to do a "grimmspeed" pattern in the suede...DAMNIT curly, i dont have time for this extra stuff but now you have me addicted!!!
if you do it take lots of pics. i want to re-do my roof panel sometime soon. the suede ceiling is pimp (also better than tan)
i have an idea if you wanted to get some custom suede made and have it on the panels still... let me know what you want to do, we can make them up and do another inserted section with custom Grimmspeed suede if you want, i can draw up a few things and send them your way if you want. or if you want to hold off let me know, we can always use Friday as a little consultation session like i do with street rodders
justin, i have been thinking and sketching some things out, but i dont really have any idea what you are looking for at all. lol, i think we can decide and design it up for the most part on Friday night, then get supplies and have at it saturday
so i see...you're almost finished...when you planning on firing it up? hurry! we need to run! and compare!!!
ok sweet colin. i'll take it. some more progress this past week. Thanks to TurnInConcepts(www.turninconcepts.com) we scored some shifter and linkage bushing made by TiC and Kartboy(www.kartboy.com). These were some of the easier bushings to put on the car...something i definitely needed after doing alot of the other bushings. The shifter has a VERY notchy feel now which is totally awesome. Also got some of the TiC Tranny Bushings which come in a sweet cherry blossom red. This involves taking off the tranny support so you will have to hold up the tranny with a jack while you do the mod. Thanks to L&E Fabrication(www.landefabrication.com) we got this killer 1.5:1 Quick Ratio Steering Rack. I should be installing this in the next few days if i can find the time. its fun turing the steering wheel side slowly and watching how much more the steering rack end turns. absolutely cant wait to use this beast in autox. Since i had the flywheel out i figured i would resurface it since it looks like the previous owner had a bit of fun with the car. got her to look pretty new after the resurface. we are getting pretty close. need a few things like radiator, fuel tank cord of the harness, fuel lines, heater hose lines, and a few other random things but i'm finally seeing the end getting closer. Justin
Hey thanks for entertaining us with the latest. I'll be looking forward to this monster on the track sometime in the near future. BIR's new track will be ideal for your setup. Get it dialed in and we'll see what it's capable of. Sazamm!
Justin that is really not hard to do.. just need a stencil and some marine foam/rubber.... cut it out and glue it to the door panel, then light layer of the white cotton / wool fibre stuff then lay the suede over it, obviously glue it all down each time, maybe even leave out the middle layer.... spray glue is your friend.... my buddy used to trim all his stuff all the time and made patterns etc....
well tried to charge the f'n new brake system and pretty much every junction leaked. i need to get some kind of sealant to put on the threads to stop it from leaking because torquing them down crazy tight isnt working. is there something special i need to use for threads on brake lines or what?? i ended up getting the wheels on and rolled her around in the shop...the thing is SLAMMED. i cant believe how low the engine is when i'm standing in front of it lol. things i need: fuel tank cord(connects to rear part of harness) radiator w/hoses fuel pump and entire assembly heater hoses fuel lines there is probably more i need but if any of you have any of the above i could use it.
you shouldnt have to use anything on the threads on the braking system... did you custom make all the brake flares etc???
Werd, brake lines seal on the taper of the flare and not on the threads. You must have mismatched fittings with the lines or something.
what part of the fuel lines do you need? i have the hard lines from the wrx that run from the tank to up into the engine bay, not sure if i have the rubber lines that go from them to the intake manifold/fuel filter. i also have the radiator out of the 99 rs not sure if that would work but i have the hoses too.
yeah most if not all the flares were custom made. wonderful i need the rubber lines that go inbetween the IM and fuel filter. i will take your radiator and hoses for sure!!
I'm curious. What kind of brake line did you use that you could easily bend by hand and not kink? was it any harder to flare?
i got it from checker. dont know much about it but they said the just started carrying it. its pretty cheap too
