my car without any sound deadening in the front 1/2 s pretty loud. I sealed the all the holes in my firewall with rubber and silicone, that helped a little with the noise, mostly with the engine smells. When I get my KAZZ installed + Curly2k3's old staight pipe exhaust, I think I won't be able to here a .45 going off in the cabin..
justin, spray some PB blaster on that sound deadening residue. it will wipe off totally clean with a little of that, worked great when i pulled it outa the trunk of my teg.
oh what fond memories...drunk driving ryan's L around the ice race course....or course i had to let him drunk drive the wrx too to make it fair lol
ROFL, he abused me in that L I remember hitting my head on the roof when jumping it, and hitting my head on the side window when whippin around corners.... all while listening to GWAR!!!! WOOT!
YES!!!!! LOL seems like i remember saying something like " ahh you don't need your seatbelt we won't go that fast" good times:biggrin:
Not to be a sally or anything... but do you guys know how extraordinarily stupid and insane you sound?
as true as that sounds they were doing it on a lake in the middle of whoop whoop with not too many people around... not like driving after drinking on PUBLIC roads... silly nether the less
could i use either of these for a crossmember??? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-...8QQihZ001QQcategoryZ42611QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-...1QQihZ001QQcategoryZ42609QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
i think he's looking at the legacy ones cause there cheap but imop if they worked with the gc's they would be asking more for them, but yeah i don't know if those work with the gc p.s. i'm going to be shimming up a wrx one, i'm sure it will be ok
i got zee enginz out. how do i go about take the front axles out and taking the tranny apart from the driveshaft.
some of the axles have the pins you have to pop out that are inside by the tranny, althought i know on some auto trannys you just pull the axle out(male end goes into tranny)
ok..so i'm guessing just hit the pin with a screw driver or something? what about the tranny to driveshaft joint?
yep i just use a punch and pop the pin out, as far as driveshaft i usually just take it off as a whole( unbolt it at the rear diff, drop the bolts at the carrier bearing and just slide it out of the tranny
3/16" punch to get the springpin out. pull the axle out of the knuckle (32mm nut), and then slide it off the tranny stub. I got the tranny out of the Chuxwagon2 when I did the clutch without pull the axles out of the knuckles first. I removed the driveshaft, linkage, and crossmember, and then lowered the tranny a bunch, and pulled one axle off at a time. the driveshaft isn't actually attached to the tranny. the splined end is just held in from the carrier bearing bracket and rear diff. once those are removed, it'll just slip out of the tranny (make sure the fluid is drained first...our you'll make a huge mess like I did the first time).
this is close to what i want my final project to look like as far as color and vinyl color....maybe rim color too. View attachment 4945
so i cant get one of the axles out of the hub....any suggestions? i've already tried beating the piss out of it with a hammer and using a pneumatic chisel...neither worked.
Maybe use a gear puller to push the axle out? I'm not sure how well you could hook it onto the hub though... Or take it all apart and use a hydraulic press to get it out. You might want to make sure the bearings are still ok after getting it out. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=95326 http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=95122
yup mine were a bitch to get out too...totally ruined the axle getting it out, but i was putting new ones in
so....when you goign to get your car running? i compared mines to silver-sti's car.... and it was a great run! from low end...i took him until 70 mph then he took off from me...well thats from 10mph roll...so...it was a good run...should get yours up and running soon....that'll be a great car to have!
You get yourself a 7-ton gear puller, and a BFH. Put the gear puller on the axle/ hub, tighten it down ridiculously tight, then hit the end of the axle with the BFH. If you want I can drop by the shop tomorrow night and drop off my gear puller. I don't need it very often. I have never had an axle stay stuck using this method. Need any other help on the project?
lol, my crap never stays in a car long enough to have the axles stuck:biggrin: i think i had one at one time and i just pressed it out.
you available saturday during the day? maybe you could bring it over and we could try it. otherwise i was planning on going over to zombie's on sunday to use the press.
