You need to change columns to fit the WRX steering wheel or what?

the switch is so that all of the wrx stuff, dash, wiring, key, wiper, turn signals, etc. just plug right in without splicing.

although i am not positive if justin got that part of the wiring too since it sounds like he did not get the column or rack with his goods.

edit- looks like he has the column but not the rack.

I think we should look more closely to see if its possible. Might be easier than some of these other options.

I don't know if I'd call it a "beam" exactly. More like a piece of tin foil for the rear bumper cover to hang from.

lets just say that if i get rear ended its not going to be pretty lol

need to take out the rear tail lights

    jdm vs. stock beam
    [IMG]

    actual jdm beam weight...4.5lbs!!!

Overall install wasnt to bad. You cant take the bumper cover off while its on the car, you need to take the whole cover/beam off at the same time then you can take the cover off.
The jdm beam is nothing more than a bracket for the cover to snap onto to hold it in place...no crash protection whatsoever.

My guess is its more for the US's 5mph crash requirement than overall crash safety. I ditched the ugly 5mph bumpers on my Merkur XR4Ti for the european sierra cosworth bumpers and you end up getting rid of the beams like that.

This is the same reason the european BMW's (well alot of cars for that matter) in the 80s and 90s look way cooler. The US ones have the fat lip.

ya know getting a lightwieght exhuast will save you alot of wieght. IIRC the buddy club racing spec 3 is only 13lbs for a cat back. that would save like 40lbs from the car.

w00t! I am pretty good at the whats in the box game. guess it comes from receiving alot of mystery boxs lately.

it helps when the weight is obviously posted on the box.

P.S. i still want those fogs.
