When can we expect to see this GrimmSpeed Time Attack machine's first debut? Spring of 2008? Looks like you have alot invested, will this be a track purpose or street/track vechicle? Have you decided on the fuel tank? So who is going to pilot this monster? I need to stop by and see this for myself, looks promising! Could this be whats to come! www.gstmotorsports.com/host/video/springmountainfinalsession.wmv
^^omg. i WISH thats what she'd be like...not gonna happen though lol wrx wiring harness all chopped up to be implanted into the L
big thanks to Chux for the wonderful job on the wiring!!! got most of the wiring run through the car. the only piece i'm missing is the 'fuel tank cord' so i need one of those asap. looks weird looking at the engine bay only cause its starting to look just like the wrx.
Looks like you may have to start hiring some female models soon and a photographer to keep up the suspense!
^YES! that dash looks awesome inside of that. When and if i do my swap that will have to be a for sure thing to do!
Thanks to one of our newest sponsors L&E Fabrication we just got a bunch of goodies in the mail... we received basically every bushing you can get for the suspension components and cross members. we also received the whiteline rear xmember locking bolts which i cant seem to get in yet because the threads on the car are all messed up since there wasnt a plug on the hole to stop them from rusting to all hell. some pics of the lateral link bushings. these bad boys go on specific ends so make sure to read the directions before installation. We used a press to push out the oem bushings and push in the new bushings. the process is a tad bit tedious and i vividly remember dropping a few f-bombs. most of the oem bushing can just be pushed out but there are a few that need to be cut out because there is a metal sleeve that cant be pushed out...one of these spots is on that bracket that holds the rear diff up(this bracket bolts to the rear xmember). all in all the bushings are much stiffer compared to the mushy stock ones. We also received another part that i'm very excited about...here it is in the box. Anyone know what it is? Thanks to our new sponsor, L&E Fabrication. Their products can be found at http://www.landefabrication.com/ Justin Grimm
btw, I guessed it correctly on NASIOC before seeing it here.....so, I win more  I'm uber jealous.
$750 from L&E...then you get 200 back when you send them your old steering column core in. http://column.landefabrication.com/ chat with erik...tell him i sent you!
Damn, I got screwed with my pants on for all those SuperPro bushings. We'll see how they hold up. I prob should lube them again when I swap my rear diff. Have fun with all those. I know I did
So when is this thing going to be ready to drive? Any chance I could try it out at an autoX next year?
pretty sure the biggest holdup is the missing parts....if everything had come when it should have, the car could easily have been running by now :ugh:
yes it will be street legal. motor isnt in yet because i'm still waiting on the clutch which hopefully will be here tomorrow.
Good point Shibbs, I guess I was thinking along the lines of insurability and mechanically incline for the street. Some rides are a killer in the R'z. LOL
so one of the more annoying projects got done this week...getting the 05 WRX dash to fit into the L. there is alot of drilling new holes for brackets, sawzalling, swearing, etc to get it to fit right. i have to admit though...it all paid off because it looks awesome!! HUGE thanks to Ryan for coming down and helping with the big dash project. you are the man, man. climate control in the race car FTW
i'm not sure what i'm going to do with the door cars yet. the L front door cards are too wide for the wrx dash so i'll have to figure something out.
