Aite ill start with saying i have a 2008 wrx, completely stock, prior salvage title if it matters, but my problem is when you click the key on the fuel pump turns on normally, kinda, normally its on for about 2-3 seconds as it builds pressure, well what mine is doing is if you leave the key on and car off the fuel pump continues to dump fuel into the engine and can hear it in the engine bay, i dont know if its a electrical problem, fuel pump problem, or if theres something that builds pressure and normally reaches pressure then it stops and maybe is leaking, or if the car thinks the engine is running. now when the car is running it is totally fine and has no problems running, I just dont leave the key on and car off. Now what i dont want is to bring it to a shop and them to charge by the hour and not be able to figure it out because i think it will take a good amount of time/diagnostic and then i dont want them to tell me its one thing then another, so if someone can figure it out im willing to pay a couple hundred dollars if it takes a good amount of time to figure out and fix but i just dont wanna pay someone to think they know what it is and guess and not actually know. let me know if any trained techs have time and wanna check it out and think they have some ideas. if they figure out the problem i can easily fix it and after its fixed i will pay them. i can handle almost all light duty things even engine swaps and replacing anything... just not diagnostic, its my nightmare and most peoples... so not looking for someone to guess like i stated before because i could make some too. thanks let me know or pm me and ill give you my cell number.

If you are hearing a high pitched wine in the engine bay I bet it is the DBW throttle servo. Stick your head right by the the throttle body, it should be the source of the noise. Totally normal, you should be able to push the throttle and the noise will change.

    dbw, not the avcs

listen to your throttle body underneath the hood, when key is on but engine off.

the fuel pump prime function is just a timed signal from the ECU, there's no pressure sensor or anything involved. I've never heard of it getting screwed up like that and still having the ECU control it.

But yes, most likely the electronic throttle body. the fuel pump is in the tank, so you don't really hear anything in the engine bay.

It is possible, that for some reason when the car was salvaged, that the fuel pump was just wired to a switched 12v+ circuit, instead of letting the ECU control it. I've heard of people doing this when halfassing engine swaps. I would not suspect that, but I think that's the only way that the pump could be coming on like that and the ECU not be fried.

no its fuel for sure, i used my code reader and the codes that come up are 1.) "p0320" fuel pump primary circuit malfunction 2.) "p0410" secondary air injection system malfunction 3.) "p2444" sec. air inj. system pump stuck on (bank 1) now the other reason i'm starting to get onto this is because my car seems to not been spooling fully or something in 3rd and 4th, i can hear it spool but don't feel it spool as hard. but it is definitely fuel and can feel it gushing through the line.
