2014 Forester XT. I'm getting hill assist light, check engine light, loss of power at random times. I took it to Morries and they wanted 150 to run diagnostics. Said I'd be back.

After googling around I'm pretty sure this issue is related to the brake light recall. I had the recall done at Morries some months ago. Thinking of trying Walser. Seems like Subaru should pay the bill on this one?

If you think it's a result of a poorly performed recall, it will be infinitely easier to have the dealer that performed the recall fix it. They, of course, are quoting you for the labor, because if it's unrelated, you're paying for it. They get hundreds of inquiries of, "you did X to my car, and now Y doesn't work" every day, so they can't promise all those customers free diagnosis.

Any chance do you know the codes that are setting? I could see if they might be brake light switch related.
