ok....so what.....umm...I dunno... Could the ECU be stupid? Stupid as in...no good? These are all good: sensors; cam, crank, knock, coilpack, ignitor, injectors, main relay, fuel pump relay AND the wires to the ECU are good. I had to rig another wire w/ 10amp fuse to the ECU for "back up power supply" for it to maintain a 12v current. SOMEONE HAVE A Legacy TURBO that wants to try my ECU to see if it works?
I'm hoping you scoured bbs.legacycentral.org very thoroughly. There are sooooo many threads on the EJ22T swap it crazy. But then again, you are putting an OBDI engine in an OBDII car. *scratches head*
that would do it! I'd check that first thing! you should have no power to either side when IGN off, and power to both sides at IGN + I've got a great ECU pinout that I scanned. hope this helps!
SO here are some progress pics...lols it peeks from the ventless hood so I took out all the wires..... and it's all empty now..... I also dropped the headers and uppipe to get ready for the NEW headers w/ uppipe. POWER!! MUAHAHHAA
I just didn't want to drill the DP and put a NEW O2 bung on it....so I figure...eh...no worries, just get headers w/ uppipe and it'll have it all set to go so I don't have to work hard.
nice exhaust....now get it running so we can hear it...looks like they are equal length too..peace out boxer sound
hey FU... i could walk into any shop and take pics of parts too.... why not install htese bad boys and finally get your car going again.... that would be progress!!!
If stockpiling parts is progress, then I've been terribly busy. I have about 300+ lbs of parts piled up in my basement right now.
it's not about piling up parts, because these are what's going to help my car run. I've sent my wires in. SO I took them OUT of my car, some progress there. SO I'm guessing by the end of Jan. maybe then it'll run. ALSO took off the stock headers and uppipe so the NEW ones can go in after the coating. Then when the wires return....I have to put them in. Tomorrow I drain my synthetic oil....then look for NEW oil cooler hose and new clamps because it's leaking. Go find me a oil filter made for the STi (the small ones). Then do my front wheel bearing and ball joint, then put it together....
taken with my cell phone...not the best quality.... here's an update..... who cares? haha this is good for high 14's @ 7lbs We'll see how QUICK it is at 7psi wastegate pressure XSPOWER (Stone Racing/SSAutochrome) header/uppipe; 4-1 header coated/wrapped 3" bellmouth downpipe (x3Racing) coated/wrapped Freshly rebuilt TD04L '02 WRX TMIC Perrin VTA BOV
Headlights STOCK modified. Took apart and painted. The corner lamps are purchased from ScoobyWorld in UK (some $117ish total or so). Slight weather stripping not sticking onto the housing but fixed that with weather stripping glue. Corner lamps TOO NEW, makes my headlights look duller because of the pits in the lens.
I already got a ride last night. The EJ22T engine pulls strong and has a nice, linear power curve. He's running on the OEM tune from a Legacy turbo ECU so he's hitting max boost between 8-9 psi on 4th & 5th gear. I think it makes 200-210 WHP... Good job, Fuji!
ahh..... yes, it started up on the 1st this month, last Sunday. It was messing with me and didn't want to spark.....found out I forgotten to tighten the CAM SENSOR....hA! But ya, it's got some new fuel, the turbo is "wearing" in now so it's running just fine. It actually has 4 different turbo sounds.....a siren noise, the whistle, wastegate, and I think wastegate flutter when you're off the gas not all teh way for the BOV to vent.....soulds like WRC car's chirpping sound. In the morning I'll be replacing 2 of the waterpumps hoses... and putting in NEW coolant. Needa get a NEW cuppler for TMIC and TB because the boost pushes teh TMIC away...hahahhah I'll boost 12psi when I get the coolant in tomorrow. It was funny messing with them Civics....hahaha
Becareful now... More power will temp you to run away...from you know who and you know what... I hear the PO calling
I not make that muchie I don't think. I think it's more like...170ish-whp, but this is at 9psi w/ the setup that I have (headerback exhaust w/ boost controller). I'm sure it can walk stock WRXs... I need some more boost. I need to check for some leaks if I have any because I can't boost past 10psi at all. The TMIC is getting pushed away from the throttle body coupler. I Need stronger clamps and also need a gasket for the BOV. 9psi feels good. A LOT of midrange torque. hehehe I still ahve to put the dash back in....looks like Matt's RS swap. ahahaaha

oh I have something for it...... TurboXS FCD (adjustible) NOW, so do I have to have my little restictor pill thingy....stock should be a plastic one, looks like a hose connector fitting, right? They sell the metal one I think..... Right now I just have the manual boost controller hooked up straight from the compressor fitting to the wastegate. I don't have the factory restrictor plastic thingy on it.
Thanks guys, it has been a LONG wait.....whew I put in a little extender thingy......now it can boost....but damn the boost cut.....it sucks.... need to hook up the TurboXS FCD....pulls nice though.. muahha
