Well I spun a bearing Sunday afternoon up at B.I.R. on the new road course(which is awesome, by the way) and I'm going to need a new short block. I'm sure I'm going to have several questons along the way on this, so I figured it'd be best if I kept them all in here. Here's a few to start:
-Does anybody have a service manual, cause I'm going to need torque specs.
-Is tuning a hybrid(2.5 w/wrx heads) so much of a pain in the ass with open ecu that I should just use another 2.0, because I can't afford a stand alone on top of a new shortblock and all the gaskets and stuff.
-I'm pretty sure the bearing went on the carosel/cloverleaf section which has you pulling pretty high g's for an extended time, if I use another 2.0 can I ether baffle my oil pan or get one that is baffled to avoid this fate again?
I'm sure there's going to be more questions to come, so stay tuned. I'll appreciate any solid advice that comes in. I know this goes without saying, but let's tryand keep the nonsense(other than me blowing up my car) to a minimum, thanks in advance...

the ej205 IMO is not a confidence inspiring engine, we hear about this type of thing all too often.

So what everyone's telling me is that I should use an ej25, huh? I was reading that the problems of the knock sensor reading wrong for the 16 bit ecu was causing timing issues during tuning. I really would like the extra displacement, but cant swing anything more than open ecu on the stock ecu for now.

Well removal is going pretty well except I cant figure out how to remove AC compressor from the engine. I don't want to remove the lines and lose the refrigerant, and I cannot get the compressor off the car. How is that supposed to be removed?

there are 4 bolts that hold it on...
2 on top that you can see(they also hold a black bracket on) and there are 2 on the bottom. the one in the back is kinda hard to get to.
if you need any help i am very close by and would be able to come over and help! just let me know!

Ive got a hybrid too tuned it myself Romraider is the stuff...plus a little E85  Go for the hybrid. Matt at RS cleaned / re-worked my heads and put them on the block also great guys. Phantom knock is worth some real torque isn't it? If you have a good tuner thats the only knock it will ever see.

Does any one have a cd manual I could borrow locally, it would be a big help. I have one ordered but it is taking it's sweet time getting here.
