Prokart 6/19/08 Maple Grove (calling out Mike Wagner!!!)

Who can make it?

 

I'm seriously thinking about making this. I went to burnsville for the first time a little bit ago and was lapping in the low 22's so I think I might be able to compete. I might bring the GF too so she can slow you guys down in front for me

I'm almost positive we'll be there. Watch out for Allison though, she was talking up how good she is. Last time I only lapped her once and she looked like she was getting the hang of it. So seriously be careful... also be aware for some heavy sarcasm

The forecast for tomorrow says its going to be in the 80's, so why not have some fun. Pole position will receive 4 water balloons, 2nd will receive two, and 3rd will receive one. And the big "L" will have to stand and face the music while everyone entertains themselves by using the big "L" for target practice. Its not really a bad place to end up if you're the L because its going to be a hot day and you just busted your butt trying to beat everyone and besides you just gotten the best view to figure out who to beat your competitors the next round.

Oh yeah and everyone should chip in for a pizza and pot lock drinks.

 

Since today is Bring your helmet to work day. I can make it.

I hope they have the outside open. I've never got the chance to drive that part!

 

If its 80 and clear out it will be open.

Hmmm... Maybe I can figure out how to plug the phone at my desk into my helmet's intercom. Wish I had the Peltor with the noise suppression, would be nice to drown out the coworkers too.

Well that was a lot of fun guys! I got some good video ... it was the first time it was out and I did have it pointed down a little too far but still solid footage. Carl if you read this have you found out anything about sound, Go Pro, and Vista????

No, we all had fun but the karts were extra FAIL!!!

Derek didn't get to race the last heat went through 3 karts, Dave spun out the first time back in the building, Mike's car would die every time exiting the building, my car pushed so bad it wasn't funny. But we all had fun

 

Disappointing review. Come on you're soo good at promoting this event, you can at least spice it up a little for those who couldn't make it. LOL I guess it is what it is.

We ran 3 races, the first race was 5 laps and determined start position, the second was a heat1 race, after heat 1 they inverted the field but the karts stayed in their original order, that meant Derek started in the last place kart.

Here were the results: Keep in mind these karts we crap for the most part.

Inverted Drivers: Times Not sure what the order was. Does anyone else know? I think Derek went through 2 karts in the last race, the first kart had front end failure and the second kart threw a drive belt.

It was a great night once CHET decided to show up, we will be taking donations for a GPS unit for Chet the "Directionally Challenged One" oh yeah and a watch.

Their karts are going down hill, last time we were there Kedrik's kart blew a tire. So where is all the trash talk'n now?

 

I have never been in any karts that were in worse condition. Some of the karts had broken seats, this is the most dangerous condition you can have on a kart. During a practice run my kart had a piece of plastic slide in front frint of the brake pedal at the end of the fastest straight away, this sent me into the barriers luckely I was able to get the kart slowed a bit by throwing it sideways prior to impact.

If it wasn't for the fact we had a large group I would have suggested we leave.

Oh well live and learn.
