My AC doesn't work and I'm pretty sure it needs a recharge - it worked last summer/fall. Is this something I can do with a can of stuff from the parts store - or is it something that it's worth paying a shop to do?

    Thanks,

Check all your lines for visible holes first. So that you dont waste money on r134a.

If you have a large TMIC, it may have rubbed through a line...mine has twice already. I've bent the line, lined it with rubber...still rubs. Sux...and of course it's the High-Side line...the expensive one :-/ I have an APS TMIC.

I might try to get that done tonight. I went outside for 4 minutes to throw some stuff for Scuba Steve into the trunk and now my nipples are sweating.

My A/C was busted this spring. I had an A/C shop in Blaine check for leaks and it was 3 different o-rings that had dried up over the winter. They replaced them, charged it, and added dye for $118 and my nips have never been so sharp.

This is the shop. They are very good at what they do and I had my girl's car's A/C done here too: http://www.autoairblaine.com/

    Again, thank you guys!
I think I might have the system checked for leakes before I fill the system- it has to be leaking somewhere.
    thanks!

I just had this problem. STi i/c rubbed a hole in my a/c line. Replaced the line, refilled it up and it's back to blowing cold air again (well as cold as the Subaru a/c's allow ) I have all the hoses and connectors to do this job, if you need a hand let me know.
