Just picked up spot number 19 and I can't tell you how stoked I am to do this. Finally have snow tires so I can get some traction! I'm not going to be able to make it to the Sat night school, is there any way to get whatever handout there is ahead of time? I would still like to get as much knowledge as possible... Also, for those that haven't been, where is "on site at Canon Falls"?
Go ahead. I should have some Hakka's on the car by then...I hope Yeah, what you said! There will be a summary document for the school, but that's about it. http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=e...66080855123511.00047a25cd5e88ed62e99&t=h&z=17
Payment There are a couple of you that have not paid. Please send your PayPal payment to [email protected] and be sure to include your contact information. Payments will NOT be accepted at the school. Everyone in the car (except instructors) must have paid in full no later than Friday night. No exceptions. thanks!!!
i can only pay Friday...pay day for me..and i have less than the entry fee to get me threw till friday..
yea!!!My car is leaking again!!!! im going to get a new hose clamp and see if that fixes the problem.
My god....have you had retarded people working on your car for you Emily? :eek4: This on-going leak is horrible...you've had some sort of leak since last spring!!!! And I'm sorry you have to deal with it. :emo: What can we do to help?
I know I fix one leak and another one starts..I am thinking its the crappy hose clamps cause evertime soneone works on my car there loose..so they must keep getting loose so I got a line on some new clamps hope it helps. otherwise its going to be a smelly school.
as long as it's not dripping..must pass tech inspection. Are you still running aftermarket hoses or did you get stock hoses? that's a given.
I have an aftermarket rad and hose kit, it does drip cause it steams when it does..but I cant physically see it cause its coming from the lower hose..I hope it will pass tech maybe I should just stay home and not chance it getting worse.
aftermarket hoses can leak. try a t-bolt clamp instead of a worm clamp or put stock type hoses back on
is there any chance of this being cancelled on a count of snow and/or cold? just curious before I send payment.
Hell NO! Besides it should be 22 and flurries sunday. Perfect weather for slideways action.
Car prep Gang, just a reminder to prep your car like you would for a normal rally cross. Quick run down...not the entire list No loose items inside/outside the car....this includes the trunk. (floor mats, personal items, etc...) Tires in good shape with no cracks in the treads or sidewalls No excessive leaks from fluids. (besides you peeing your pants because your gonna have so much fun!) Brakes in good shape Throttle return in good shape (minus you STI people...or newer DBW cars) Secure battery! Tie Downs must be adequate. No, zipties don't count! ...and the one that gets people the most. NO SPINNERS!!!!!!!!!! We will discuss things like tire pressure & seat belts at the school saturday night. BRING A FRS RADIO with good batteries!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SNELL 1995 or newer helmet (SA95, M95, or K98)- we will have a few helmets people can use for the day. Please let us know at the school saturday night if you need a helmet.
Just wondering since I have not done this before, but what is the reasoning behind the radio? I went and picked a radio up, but what are we going to be using them for? Are the instructors going to be talking to us from outside the car? I have done 2 seasons of auto-x and not needed one, so I am curious.
typically the frs radio is used when you are working the course to call in knocked over cones or missed gates
The other reason for the radios is to communicate to the participants when we are switching groups, breaking for lunch, reconfiguring the course, etc.
brakes in good shape - please define my brakes on the rs aren't gone, but will be replacing them in the spring - and they're rusty
just checking as i'm doing a little work on the car tomorrow and emptying it of misc. crap that's in there
I assume this would be fine as its allowed at the rallycrosses, I should really consider this myself as I'm not sure how the automatic forester will do for rallyX ha
this was covered earlier in the thread... you are allowed to have someone ride in the front passenger seat and they must have a helmet.. but if you want to have an instructor ride along to help you, your passenger will need to get out of the car.
OK, I'm 10 pages into a search and found nothing so far. I am assuming that I need to pump up the air in the tires, is there anything other than that and the basic tech things to check before tomorrow?
We will cover those questions at the school. Depending on the type you should learn towards a higher pressure limit of that tire so you decrease the chances of debeading. I've always ran my tires around 36psi
I'm not able to make it to the classroom tonight unfortunately. I have to be in Delano at 7. Would I be safe in the 45psi range?
when i ran snows for rallyx i set them to 40psi cold. if the ground is really frozen it's less likely to rut up. ruts are usually the culprit in a de-bead so you might be able to run less psi.
