VF34 is sold already, pending payment from Aspitfire. And the NeoGens are ok, not the best tires I've owned, but they work.

Ray is going to have the PPGs to me on Friday. Cams and everything should be here today. UTEC probably tomorrow.
Hopefully Brian can get the gears in that case by next weekend. If so, I'm looking to fire the car up for the first time on Sunday of next weekend!!!

Probably have that at the same time. Might need a few sets of eyes to check for leaks etc. Bring your flashlights. I'll post a date in the Events Section when I know for sure. There was a mixup with the fuel pumps, so those wont be here till next week probably.

Updates. I'm not sure Sunday is going to work out now. There is just far too much to do in very little time. A week to get this done and all the parts are still lying all over my basement floor.
Brian is coming over tonight, I spoke with Mike Wray about piston/valve clearance a bit. I'm going to try a few things and see what we can come up with. With any luck, everything will check out and we'll have the block and heads fully assembled this evening. And likely the smaller stuff like intake manifold and exhaust manifold/uppipe, clutch and flywheel.
The transmission will leave tonight with Brian along with the PPG gears and other tranny bits. Hopefully they can get assembled in a week during Brian's down time at work. I don't see it being too much of a problem, but you never know.
But with the magnitude of the jobs left to do, I just don't see how we can jam that into a weeks time. I also still have to wire in the DTEC and the UTEC, solder in the stuff for the UR injectors....blah, there is just way too much to do in 7 days. But i'll know more as the week comes to a close how things are going. I want it done, but I don't want to rush either. I waited this long so I want to make sure it's finished off right.

Agreed. I figure one extra week will slow the roll a bit, and give me time to make sure everything is clean and neat and done right. And it still gives me a few weeks to put some miles on it to break in the motor before Clark gets here.

I could see possibly doing the one lap during the noon hour, or possibly around 7 after traffic dies down a bit, that way there are people on the roads to slow down and speed up for.

Here's some pics of today's progress. We got the heads bolted up to the block. Still need 3 buckets to get the lash right. But those will be here next weekend, and it gives me time to finish painting the valve covers.
There is a crank case breather elbow that had to get yanked. Brian is going to cut it off and fill it with JBWeld so I can use it as a plug instead.
There is a snag on the intake manifold. The fuel lines don't clear the turbo, lol. Everything is just too damn big. So I'm going to have to run the rails in reverse which means I'm probably going to have to disassemble the rails and flip them around so the lines can sit properly. This will just take some extra time out of my life, but whatever works. Once I get that figured out, I have to wire in the new low impedance injector controller box into the engine wiring harness. Just 8 wires to solder so no big deal.
The tranny is still sitting at MTKA awaiting word from AndrewTech as to where the shim he sent me is supposed to fit into the thing. We just can't seem to figure that out. Once we know, Brian has to press the gears onto the main shaft and re-assemble the transmission [IMG]
The key to today's progress was in the piston to valve clearance. It will work fine. So we are 100% good to go.

    So, on to the pics.

    Easy. Get a divorce.

Then find a chick that doesn't mind an engine in the kitchen. And also, one that likes to take pictures of engine blocks in the kitchen. ;)

These motors can be touchy when it comes to PCV. Be careful.

Ididn't show up at uni cause I've been orking on my AFPR setup, which has a snag, but dammmit, I wanna get dirty. Plus I have the fastest toolbox around ;)

The WRX only has the one on the top of the block...the EJ22T has two. Now if I was going to use the EJ22T heads and ECu, I'd probably worry about it. But since I'm using the WRX heads and ECU I'm not too concerned about crankcase breathing. The EJ20 doesn't have it, so neither will mine. I don't forsee it being an issue. But definately much thanks for pointing that out.

BTW, we ran into a small snag here. Nothing major, but still a problem. There is no possible way for me to get a filter/intake whatever on the inlet of that turbo. The fuel rails stick way out due to the UR injectors and the fuel rail lines are also slightly in the way.

I just remembered that a buddy had similar issues with a car. He ended up using a motorcycle filter. The issue is finding the right one with a big enough opening. (obviously)

He didn't seem to have any issues with flow from it either.

Another option might be finding a silicone coupler with a slight bend in it and putting a filter on that way.

Any such thing as a 90 degree fitting(s) coming out of the fuel rail and have run the fuel lines into that eliminating the big bend? I'm clueless but it seems logical.

Can the fuel lines be lengthened to a point where they can be moved more?

I think a silicone hose would work, but it would be a tight fit and abrade against the fuel lines, probably crapping out the hose after a while. Is the a 90degree fitting that can but put at the joint where the fuel line meets the fuel rail maybe?

This is also another option. If necessary, I may take these things to that Aeroquip truck and have them hack and splice in some 90 degree fittings. The only problem with this idea is that the rail itself is still in the way, regardless of where the lines are going. There might be more room to come up with a solution, but it doesn't ultimately solve the problem.

What kind of fitting is that on the end of the rail? It doesn't look like a standard AN.

From the pics, it looks like 45 degree hose ends would give you some more room to work with at least.

Fobia stopped by and we flipped them around. I'm going to have to have some hoses made to go from the distribution block to the feed and return.

i would get some 90* AN fittings, and route them straight down. then curve up and in with the stainless lines. it could give you the clearance you need to fit a coupler or intake on there.

otherwise take you DP, and make it go bendy bendy alitle bit and you will clear no problem.
