Removing the fuel lines from the rails is near impossible, and will likely destroy the lines themselves anyway. The best bet we've come up with will be to extend the lines to and from the distribution block a few inches to reach the spot where they were originally designed to be. They are easy to remove, and simple to replace. Fobia will likely weld up a short aluminum pipe that can connect to the turbo inlet and accomodate a filter.

So now it turns out that AndrewTech sent me a 4th gear sprocket instead of a 3rd gear sprocket...they are overnighting me one, so hopefully that fixes that problem. I'm quickly running out of time.

Not your problem bud, don't worry about it, you didn't pack the box. AndrewTech took responsibility for it right away and owned up to the mistake. And agreed to make right by overnighting me the gear I needed.

yeah, they're great vendors for sure. They've overnighted me two parts now free of charge. I definately can look past the mistakes when they make that much effort to fix them. Definately a stand up bunch of guys. And Andrew is one of the easiest guys to talk to. Often times I have to cut that guy short so we don't run the phone call on for half an hour talking about non-business stuff.

Well, with a little bit of engineering, and alot of fried chicken, it seems the valve lash is finally where it's supposed to be. We had to rig up a press with a grinding wheel and actually re-size the buckets ourselves. Subaru no longer makes shimless buckets smaller than 469, so if your valve lash measurements tell you you need something smaller, give driftin240 a call ;). A few loud grinding noises and a couple micrometer checks later and we had the heads fully assembled.
The PPG 3rd gear I was missing just arrived. So we're set to go on that. I'm taking it to MTKA today with me along with my oil pan (hot tank ftw) and with any luck, the tranny and engine will be resting in the car once again tonight :)

I seriously doubt it as there's a ton of aux stuff that needs to be bolted up and wired after the engine & gearbox go in.

yeah, I doubt I'm going to have the car running this weekend, that would be a stretch. Likely have it running next weekend. I have alot of piping, vaccum, oil, coolant lines etc... to cut. Plus my fuel distribution block feed and return lines don't even reach the filter.

The paint scratching isn't an issue, it can easily be touched up if necessary.

The power steering lines absolutely must be re-routed...they just wont work sitting next to the turbo, you'd have to see it up close to understand, but the intercooler piping wont be easily routed if it is in the way...and it rubs the filter.

As for the other side of the intercooler, I'm going to have to hack off some of the fan shrouds on the radiator...there is just no room for a pipe in there...the Koyo is just enormous. Again, Fobia, you'll just have to come over and see it in person.

That's just a start, I'm sure more snags will present themselves this week.

Actually, the way the lines are now, is fine. I don't mind it. And getting two new lines made to mate up with the feed/return isn't really a big deal IMO.

Actually man, now more than ever the lines wont fit the 'correct' way. The way they are now, the filter is around half an inch from the fuel rail...that would leave no room for the fuel lines coming out of them. We can try, but I'm thinking that wont happen.

When you stop by today, bring your angle grinder ;) I got some things that need to be chopped off.

Is this braided steel line? I may actually be able to use that!

I believe that is what the fuel rails use.

Looking damn good, sucks about the cc. I don't know if I could live without it.
