Readymix EJ22T build thread...

    So close!

    I need to stop by Menards and grab a bolt for the starter, we tapped the hole last night so it should be all set to go on that front.
    I need coolant hose for the turbo.
    I need an oil return hose for the turbo also.
    The biggest issue I have right now is the alternator secondary bracket with the adjustment on it. For some reason it sits about a 1/16th of an inch too far forward and it placing the alternator pulley out of alignment, which could cause the belt to slip off. It isn't off by much at all, but it is enough to worry. Fobia is stopping by to have a look and see if he can use his artwork to fix it up.
    I need one more pipe welded for the IC piping.
    And I need to rewire the MAF sensor wire.
    Aside from that stuff, the typical stuff:

    Oil
    coolant
    tranny fluid
    UTEC map upload
    Unmarry the AP (yes, I know you are waiting for my AccessPort ;))

    That pretty much covers it, barring any issues with the alternator bracket, I might be able to fire this biatch up before Friday :) Time to prepare the neighbors for a 20 minute, 2000rpm cam break-in, lol.

    Tom, I may need you to do an Enginuity flash to get it to idle right. Not sure yet. Do you think you could help me out with that this week?

    Yuppers, can do. I'd just need to know the correct size of the tube that the MAF sits in.

    Didn't Clark send you a ROM for that, or was it just the UTEC file?

    Just a UTEC file. The tube is probably 2.5". Which will likely cause all sorts of issues if you tune it for MAF useage on any sort of throttle, but this is mainly for idle, I believe the UTEC takes over after that and runs based on MAP. We'll have to see when I load up the map on the UTEC.

    You'll just do the standard injector scaling adjustment like we do with every other car, right?

    So what do you do with the MAF scaling table? Multiply everything by (3^2)/(2.5^2)?

    Well I guess we'll have to see how that works, lol. I'm not sure what exactly triggers the CL --> OL crossover. Do you still have all of those jackass steps in right around the MAF sensor?

    Jason -- can you contact UR and get me the correct latency values for your injectors? I can't seem to find them anywhere online.

    A good starting point with the MAF would be to multiply the g/s tables by a constant represented as [(new MAF ID)/(stock MAF ID)]. So with a 2.5" MAF tube, the correct scalar should be about 0.9549.

    But we need the correct injector latency values first before anything else.

    Nope, the jackass steps are gone, had the MAF plate welded directly to the IC piping. I'll see what I can do about the latency values for the injectors.

    Well, with any luck, it might be at Firestone on Friday. But don't take that as a for sure yet.

    But that is my goal. I'd love to have it out this weekend to cruise around in.

    Not sure if this helps but on 785cc UR injectors this is pretty damn close for the latency table:
    6.5 9.0 11.5 14.0 16.0
    2.55 1.74 1.31 0.76 0.55

    The numbers on top are the battery voltage.

    Nevermind... I see jason already posted them :eek:

    IC piping fits perfectly. The Alternator...not so much. Still cocked even after re-drilling it. I'm gonna leave it for now just to get it running. It isn't off by that much. But I will have to fix it before the tune.

    Another thought I had was to notch the holes on the Alternator bracket so it can be rotated a bit. Then get a lock washer and crank down on the thing.

    No more duck calls, it was fun, but it doesn't fit well on teh RFL and I don't need any restrictions on the venting of pressure ;)

    Yes, I redrilled it in the bracket but for some reason it still ended up just as cocked as it was before. You should stop by today if you get a chance and look at it. I might try firing it up tonight as long as I can get teh oil and coolant hoses made for the turbo.

    Come over, we'll try.

    I ran into another small hurdle that will likely be fixed before you even get here tonight. The coolant return from the head is pointed directly at the turbo outlet. I'm sure that bolt that holds the tube isn't required though, so I'll just undo it and cock the pipe to fit. It's not really an issue, just another hold up.

    kthx. I don't think I'll be firing it up tonight though. Odds are I'd rather wait till you were there to play with the tuning and use the wideband and such.
