So I just got my new frozen rear rotors and ive removed all the caliper bolts and beat the piss out of the rotor. I figured i was doing something wrong so I did some searching and the answer is the two little holes on the hub of the rotor. After I inspected these 8mm holes I find they have no threads so any idea how i remove these?
they musta been on there for awhile mine just slid right off after i took off the calipers and the brake bracket
Ebrake is down and I'm currently at menards (ick) picking up a dead blow now to get the big on or the small one
if the rotars are shot why use a dead blow? id use any means short of nuking the car 2 get the rotor off. i dont think hittin the face of the rotor with a reg hammer is going 2 hurt anything other then meybe ur hand
Very true but I needed a dead blow any way and if I can't get them off I don't want totally f'd rear breaks untill I can get them fixed
A BFH (dead blow is worth a shot but prolly wont do much) and some penetrant should do the job. Though if you have the holes I would tap them with a bottoming tap and use a bolt to force them off.
got them off the ball pien didnt do anything but 2 hits with the dead blow got them right off. Now to fix the caliper hang up issue
