I was looking at Rockauto to order some new wheel bearings and was wondering if anyone had some input, If one brand is better than another. thanks
i got rockauto's wheel bearing for mine and it still works great after a year. forgot which brand though.
This is a job I'm about to do. Where are you getting the old bearings pressed out? I was thinking of seeing if I could buy a new hub with bearings already in place for my 01 RS to save the hassle - especially as the hubs can also be scored. Any info greatly appreciated
NTN/SKF are the OEM bearings. They aren't too bad at the dealer with discount, ~$62 ea for rears. This is a good read all about them if you care to know. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=987976
I've been reading this about the replacement. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=787070 You probably have this in hand already but it's pretty useful.
I have someone to do them for me at the dealership I work at. I thought I saw a post a while back talking about a good bearing to go with, but I can't find the post...that's why I was asking.
ok was just checking on Rockauto for bearings and other things, I noticed that there are 2 different SKF front inner and outer seals listed, that have different dimensions. how do I know which one I need?
There are really only a couple companies that make bearings, so the quality of the product doesn't vary much. Shouldn't be any variation in the seals....that doesn't make any sense.
yeah Ive read that on NASIOC but when I just looked at parts from rockauto they listed 2 different inner ones for the front that were the same brand, I guess the only thing that was different was the Width dimension on the seal one is .296 and the other is .315, is that gonna matter the OD, Shaft, and Bore sizes are the same....yeah also checked my driver wheel for play...yeah its totally shot
