so both of my fog light bulbs went out and i am looking into getting new bulbs. i want to go with a yellow bulb, i found some pretty cheap ones on rallylights.com i have the option to get 55w, 85w, or 100w... would the 100w be noticeably brighter? would the stock wiring be able to handle it? i dont know much about lighting and stuff, sorry
I use the Nokyan(sp) yellow bulbs Tintmasters sells and I'm pretty happy with them. Not quite the output I hoped for but that is the downfall of collored bulbs. On the plus side, the yellow is great in bad weather\fog.
I found this to be a very informative thread: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=954736 And the one resource he lists (Daniel Stern Lighting) got back to me within a day on a wiring question I asked. Good luck, eh!
For best output, use the selective yellow bulbs from daniel stern. They are great. Not as yellow as you'd think, but great output. I use the same ones boomer uses. The nokyan sp yellow bulbs. They are painted yellow like he said, which is the downfall, but great in inclement weather...rain, snow, fog, or great for use at dawn or dusk. The love the look of a deeper yellow bulb, which is why I picked these. I had the gold ones from danielsternlighting.com, but I changed them out for these. Hope that helps. I would stay 55w in a stock lamp.
