Well I got my stage 1 tune from Bullwinkle today, and here is my dyno sheet. We were both curious to see comparisons to a Dyno Dynamics, (AKA Heart Breaker dyno)

I will be going to DB tomorrow for the mitsustyle spring dyno day and will post up my dyno sheet when I get back.

    MY04 A/T WRX

Relevant Mods: spt intake w/o heatshield, spt catback

It will be different solely based on variations temperature and humidity. Still should be interesting though.

    Yup, true.

I also think something is off with his road dyno posted above. The pull started a little early on my usual tuning spot, so the first 500-600 RPM were more uphill then flat, so this probably brought torque down a bit.

Although admittedly, the logic was just added to do AT's on the road dyno (uses vehicle speed and gear ratios to calc torque), so I didn't have many numbers to compare to. I did use quite a bit of smoothing to keep the top end in check, so that maybe removed the mid-range torque spike usually associated with AT's. Anyway, peak HP is about right what I expected, though.

Well I put down 143 HP and 139 TQ on the Dyno Dynamics yesterday. I will put up my charts as soon as I get a chance

Yikes, quite the heartbreaker for sure. I guess I'll see when you post up the run, but did he rev it out all the way to 7000?

Curves look good, numbers...not so much :(.

Looks like the road dyno is a little skewed on the top end, upping peak HP significantly.

My stage 2 tune for 03 WRX 5sp was 189/190 couple years ago. They read lower than any other dynos in metro area.

yeah pretty much, its only got a catback and stage 1 tune. Plus its an Automatic, thats whats really sucking power.

How was the road dyno run?

I've generally seen my road dyno results roll off both ends a little.

So, why is the WRX getting NA type numbers? I can only assume this is an automatic type thing. I would normally expect to see a rather significant midrange torque peak.

Auto subies give really weird numbers on dyno's. My RS made 112 whp but it keeps up with other NA subies that dyno around 130.

I'd say nates graph is more accurate and that your tranny is just playing tricks on the dyno.

    Yeah, that's pretty much it.

Yeah, the auto really robs power. That specific road dyno run is obviously off on the top end (as you can kind of tell with HP peaking at redline).

The midrange torque really wasn't there, and it was down on power from what I kind of expected. His BCS and wastegate was also only holding around ~14 PSI of boost throughout the range, which limited power and torque significantly. And yeah, so does stock exhaust.
