"I" could, but my friend has a class that he cant miss. ive been trying to have him get out of it, but he cant
i'll pm you my phone number and you can call me when you are ready to leave. There is a chance that i am late if more work shows up.
alright well my friend backed out on me so I can leave anytime. I work tonight till 5am so I pry wont be up till 11-12. if you wanted to leave before that let me know, i could pull an all nighter
haha.. don't need to pull an all nighter. Take your time and call me when you are up. I am planning on going to st. paul to pick up my girlfriend. And then drive up. so leave Roch at 1pm or so and then leave St. Paul by 3:30-4. Does that work for you? btw. im packing some frozen pizza, frozen dinner, pop, and frozen burritos. Rich said that there isn't anything nearby to buy stuff.
sounds good to me. I might need to get up early any way, i was looking at my car and just relized i'm gonna need an oil change in 100 or so miles, better early then late. I should get some food to then. do you wanna meet up in stp or down here, I dont wanna intrude on you and your gf if your going up early to spend more time with her. but if you did want to meet down here I live in Zumbrota or I guess we could in Roch. too sinse I have to do the oil and food thing.
nice to know. Maybe it's not too late for Rich to reserve a room for you guys so you can have privacy. Also, now that your wife is going you are more than welcome to take a rest stop at my girlfriends place before we head out to orr. let me know.
Pat I think they had one there several months ago but it was for "show" and not for "sale"! Go in and ask them for a test drive!
well, on my way to work today I got behind a black GC8 dark tinted windows and aftermarket exhaust also has "WRX" badge on the hatch. I've seen him before. We both take the same route and I pull up beside him at the 52S exit at 2ndst SW. we rolled down the windows and chatted a bit. can't have much of a conversation during a stoplight. found out its a jdm transplant wrx engine - 300awhp he says. told him about the website so we'll see if he shows.
Nabil Maybe you should buy this just in case you get intimate with a larger pole next time.... http://www.mnsubaruclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=70213#70213 Keep it as a backup! Steve
ordered goodrich SS brakelines and ATE brake fluid from Oakos sunday. should be here by tomorrow. don't know when i'll get them on. I'll probably get some stuff from allsubaru later. should i do the brakelines/fluid before the pads get here? when did we want to do that anyway?
I don't remember when the pad were going to be here. My weekends are pretty booked up for the rest of this month but the first part of April is looking pretty good. I ordered wheels from Dave on Sunday as well. He sure is a nice guy. Ended up geting 17x7.5 Attacks in gunmetal. Not the most hip wheels but they are pretty light. There are supposed to be here tomorrow (Wednesday). Pretty darned good service if you ask me. Any suggestions of a good place in town to mount them that won't fark 'em up? I'm excited but I probably won't put them on until April 1. Something about summer tires in March in Minnesota that doesn't compute. Steve
I had Discount Tire mount my tires. I ordered tires from them, mounting and balancing valve stem-ing was a marginal fee ($10 each?) They did a good job. They'll order any tire if they don't have the size in. But you have your tires already. I found out later that I could have gotten a Mayo discount that would have saved me $50 - oh well. I guess I'd trust them to do the job since all they really do is tires/wheels. I'm itching to put my summer wheels/tires back on. This weather is deceiving. We could get snow in April, who knows.
many happy returns of the day bro! I am available this weekend for a celebration. I think I am going to buy the brake lines as well, we can install them with the pads. What do you think? ps: I hate you Steve, I was looking at getting the attacks too, now i will have to go for Grid's and they are 2lbs heavier.
OMG.....they came today and they are SCHWEEEEEET AS SCHWEEEEET GETS! I wasn't so sure on the color from the picture on the website but I went for them anyway. I had been waiting for OAKOS to get more attacks in and in a color that turned my crank! These thing are going to look so awesome! A local guy here in Hooterville is going to mount and balance them for me tomorrow. Nabil.....I don't give two ****s it you get the same wheels. Wouldn't bother me in the slightest. I'm not wired that way. I got gunmetal....get something different.....or get the same......really doesn't bother me. I'll just tell everyone you idolize me and do everything I do! Steve
and you idolize everything Pat does! yeah I wanted them in Gunmetal with a polished lip.. we'll see i guess.
I just idolize Pat.... Mine don't have the polished lip. If Oakos had them that way I would have ordered them. The polished lip looks hot! Steve
Here, I'm sure you saw these but there not gun metal http://www.oakos.com/Merchant2/merc...355&Product_Code=ROTATTRSG&Category_Code=1316 could check subydude and see if they have more in the polished-lip variety. nabil, I might head to my parent's place in WI this weekend. If the mood strikes I'll do my brakelines there. Looks a lot more involved than just changing pads. I'm sure steve will look into them now and also want to get them  I have other mods in mind. not sure if i want to let my plans be known to everyone...
Pat Yeah....I saw those on there. They had been on there for a while but I wanted something a little darker. I don't have a problem with the brake pads but I don't think I will do brake line myself. I would probably have Bikerboy do them. When it comes to something that could cause death if I screw it up I usually leave it up to the professionals. Steve
actually i think it looks like cake. http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2731 just need a 10mm flare line wrench. - got one? hardest part is bleeding them.
Yeah i want the wheels to be a little darker too esp because of the tint i have. I like the Grid's as well but as they are heavier I am a little reluctant. About the brakes, I think if we all join forces and do em with the brake pads as a group install, we should be fine. Hopefully the temperature will get better by that time. What do you guys think?
I wouldn't worry that much about the weight difference. It's what - 2lbs? I know, I know -physics will show that its a big deal. but i seriously doubt you'll feel it. I couldn't really tell when I put mine one. they're just over 19lbs each. either way the wheels are under 20lbs which is way better than a 3 piece 18" rim weighing 30+lbs or those "dubs" that with tires weigh over 100lbs. "Time to un-pimp zeh auto - Veedub in da Haus" as long as the brake pad install joining forces thing doesn't involve holding hands or a circle jerk, that's fine. I'm not terribly busy, but things come up. birthday celebration will be belated - next weekend (17th). we can meet at westfire with my friends n' stuff. steve - can't wait to see those rims mounted!!
"Don't even have the common decency to give a guy a reach-a-round!" Had the tires mounted yesterday by a local guy here in Hooterville with a little garage. He did a really nice job. Weights on the inside. They look hot. I'm still going to wait until after April 1 to put 'em on. I was half assed contemplating putting one side on this weekend so I could see what they look like but I don't think Tami will give me enough free time to be that bored. I'm cool with the brake pad install....no issues but I have never done it before. Steve
No, but this is what my plan is for the weekend in MSP: http://www.mnsubaruclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2663&start=435
Yep...got'em on....only took me 13 hours to drive to Dodge Center this morning on my summer only tires....dumbass! Have they finalized the deal with the brake group buy? I'm going to be up in the cities this weekend so I can pick mine up if they're really gonna do it! Hey Nabil Have you hit any road signs yet?
I see what's going on here! 'bout time you get that installed! Steve, you said it yourself - dumbass! seriously, you put on your new rims after last monday!? and yesterday!? I'm waiting until at least april 1st. btw, i haven't gotten my brakelines installed. ran out of time last weekend, won't happen this weekend. continuing to look at things to buy...
http://www.mnsubaru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9650&page=7 Alright guys, i leave for St. Paul tomorrow at 12:30pm. If you want me to pickup your parts, please let me know. btw, gas/lunch/dinner/boredom donations are gladly accepted. heh.
Yes, pick up my parts. I don't know how much I owe... pay you back i guess. what's everyone up to? what site are we using? i'm on both now, i really don't care that much. i can see differences between the two, but i don't have loyalities either way. edit: Patrick Bedroske $140.93 oh, found it.
Well, I just finished installing a new battery in my car. Waiting patiently for good enough weather to detail the car, put on the summer tires and give it a work out. APS CAI should be hitting my doorstep tomorrow. Shortly after that KW Variant 3 coilovers with RCE front camber plates. Then custom tune on May 7. That is it for this season. I am going to go to MAM for a HPDE on June 24. That is a long way off and I am sure other events will pull me away sooner. The reason I mention this one is because it is a long way off and I figured that might give all of us enough lead time to clear our schedules. What do you think, can we get a large group to go down? The event is run by FTL and I did one of theirs last year. I had so much time on the track that I actually had to sit out a few sessions for a rest. I think I had a total of over 70 laps in one day. The group is great, the track is very safe with large runout areas. Technical, fast, and fun. Saw everything from stock civics to vipers and a few fully prepped race cars. Anyone in? Here is a link to the group's site: http://www.findtheline.com/default.asp
I'm thinking MAM is quite a way off. Give me time to think about it. If I know I'll be free, I might be down. Big might though. I'll do my own brakes on the weekend of the 7th if no one can get together. But i'll still be up for a spring get together too. we should talk to Bikerboy about a spring drive...hmmm.
Brad Sorry, took me a while to get re-registered with the new forum otherwise I would have responded earlier. Sorry, I have two autocross events in the Twin Cities that weekend otherwise I would go along for sure. Steve
I get back from a short trip Friday evening the 7th. Let me know where you guys will be working on brakes, I would love to watch, help, encourage, or whatever. Keep the MAM event in the backs of your minds - lots of fun. Put my summer wheels/tires on today as well as my APS CAI. The sound is wicked, but can't tell any difference in anything else. I am hoping that it is worth something - the guy doing the tuning day in May said it would help (Jorge). We will see.
Count me in! We can do it at my place if everyone wants. I would think once we do one set of pads the others should just fly. Let's pick a day and time.....I like late afternoon.....but I'll be flexible. Steve
