What day? Friday through Sunday next weekend should work. Friday would be the best though. I might have company.

I'll try to get my lines in this weekend, but will be lucky if I get to them - making a trip to Madison/Milwaukee.

I have a set of jackstands, a set of ramps and a floorjack that I don't trust too much, but it works. I'll bring them all. If we have enough hands, the job should go pretty quickly.

    Anyone know a good break-in procedure? I think i read 35 to 5mph x3, 45-15mph x3, 65-30mph x3... any ideas?

Friday does NOT work for me....work. Sunday would be best. Preferrably 2:00 ish or really early in the morning.

From a reliable souce it shouldn't take more than an hour per vehicle.

Back up in the air again!

I could maybe make late afternoon on Friday work. I'm usually off at 3:00. Pat and I could get started and then you could come over after work?

The only problem with this is Nabil has my brake pads. so I'd have to wait for him. I'll have other parts to install though (front swaybar, rear endlinks) if anyone's interested in that.

    This is getting really corn-fusing!

Tami wasn't really thrilled with the Friday evening thing anyway.

How about Saturday afternoon? I'm probably going to bail on the Test and Tune down in Waterloo on Sunday so Sunday would probably work too.

My preference is later afternoon like 2ish or 3ish so that Tami can do stuff earlier in the day but I'm willing to be somewhat flexible.

If we're going to do it at my place I would prefer to keep it to the brake pads and maybe help Pat with his endlinks / front swaybar the following week or another time. The front swaybar is pretty time consuming. I just don't have a lot of time to commit right now....we're getting ready for a vacation at the end of the month.

I did get my pads yesterday. I had them ups them.

I still have not been able to find a good instructions on the pads.

1.) I can drop off pads for Pat earlier?
2.) Sooooo... Friday is not preferable by Steve anymore.
3.) Sat and Sun are available for Steve and Me.
4.) Time needs to be after 2pm.
5.) I would like to help with the Sway bar and endlinks but I am kinda short on time too. Girl is visiting this weekend and I am pretty much ditching her to get this done. I'd love to help either during weekdays or next weekend
    6.) Solution for this weekend:

    Pat,

If you are available on Sat or Sun after 2pm, then please for God's sake choose a day and we'll make that work.

Sunday then! weather looks good all weekend so that shouldn't be a factor.

I'll try to get my other parts in myself. I was just kinda teasing you steve about the front sway bar. since you have experience, if you're willing to help - that'd be cool with me too!

SEE YOU GUYS SUNDAY!!! - (until one of you changes your mind again.)

Agreed....dammit! 2:00 on Sunday at my place.

Pat....I will be glad to help with the swaybar sometime. It's not hard, it's just time consuming because you have to remove about 250 bolts to get at the damn thing.

We could try the Bicycle Sports parking lot?

Any more install days or meets coming up? Sounds like we need a whole install day just for the collection that Pat is accumulating. It has been a long time since I have seen all of your cars (don't get out too much these days).

I have seen a few new Subies in town recently including a blue STi with a CF hood on 55th street and a very green WRX in the Chatfield area a few weeks ago.

    It was Me!!!!

Saw your car there but we had to get going.

Kinda bothers me that i see cars around town and don't have any way to tell them about the site. I keep seeing the guy with a black GC8 wagon with jdm sti engine transplant cuz he lives near me, but I've only talked to him once at a stop light.

Installed fsb and rear endlinks this past weekend. everything went well except for figureing out how to get off the sub-frame brace and shearing a bolt on the swaybar bracket. No noise from the endlinks! set the rear on full stiff and the front on "soft" for now. -soft is still stiffer than stock. makes quite a difference in all around feel, turn-in is noticably quicker.

Now I wait for response from Daddy's SCP about the Maddad Whisper catback and make an appt. with Matt to get the rest of the exhaust installed...

Wow almost a year already! We should plan a big(ger) get together in a few weeks so we can all settle on a date/time/place. Maybe we can get some more recruits by then... anyone have any "mnsubaru.com" flyers?

saw a blue 02-03 with gray rims yesterday. there are a lot of people that don't know about us here in rochester.

    Back from Vacation.......

Let's get together! How about just a "get-together-to-catch-up" gathering? There we could discuss having another install day.

I still want to Brad to hold my hand through clearing my headlights!

Next weekend sucks....I have two Auto-x's at Valley Fair....come and watch or give it a whirl. After next weekend I am pretty open.

I'm happy to help, handholding is out though. How about this afternoon, quick meet and greet somewhere to discuss recent mods, future mods, and install days? I am anxiously awaiting my coilovers and would love some help with the install when they get here. Next weekend is out for me - getting protuned by Jorge.

carbon fiber STi hood scoop with silver mesh in the scoop, body kit.
sounded like it had a TBE and BOV. Have not seen it around before.

Just wanted to add to this and say what's up. I was at the MAC AutoX at Midway Stadium today, and I met a couple guys off this website. Is there a regular meeting time for Rochester?

Also, does anybody here get together to swap motors or tune standalones or anything nerdy like that? If so, you should probably let me know so I can come help

    Welcome!!

No, unfortunately there is no regular meeting time in Rochester. And we don't have any tuning/swapping nerds other than Phatsuby (Ben) but he's usually hanging out in the cities or Oregon. Not to say that we're not into tuning our cars! I found out today that I think I blew a strut, not completely sure. Anyway, we're all relatively knowledgeable and approachable. We all should really get together some time (hint hint guys).
Welcome again, we'll see you around town. What color is your car?

I was there too.. I was driving the 02/03 silver bugeye with tinted lights. Were you driving the yellow one?

    Guys,
    I need help, again!

My exhaust keeps making this rattling sound. It seems to be touching the differential crossmember? how can i fix that?

Also, during turns, i hear a clunking sound..what can that be?

also.... my birthday in a couple days and my friends want to buy me a present in the $200 range. this is what i had in mind.

Springs, Swaybars, Endlinks, or strut tower brace.. what should i get and from which company?

I was driving the blue car. The yellow one was being co-driven by a father/son combination. Tom was the dad and Drew was the son, IIRC. They both did pretty good. There's another autoX in the cities on june 4th, I just signed up for. They will both be there also. You guys should come out too

I would be up for meeting sometime too, just get together and BS about cars somewhere.

My first guess would be a severed head rolling around in your trunk.
    But then again, I'm weird.

(Seriously tho, since you've got other exhaust rattles, that would be the first suspect. After you clear up the rattle, if the clunk is still there, then there are lots of other suspects, narrowed down according to WHEN it clunks. If you steer lock-to-lock while moving 1mph, does it clunk? Does it clunk going straight over a speed bump? Does it clunk immediately when the weight shifts into the corner, or is there a slight delay before the head hits the opposite side of the trunk?)

My vote would be NON-SUCKY TIRES.

You have to corner pretty hard for the effects of a strut tower brace to be noticeable. And if you're cornering that hard, you ought to have high-performance tires.

I *know* you need snow tires for next winter (I walk or drive past the evidence every day, heehee). If I were you, I'd put those snows on the stock rims and start thinking about a nice summer wheel/tire package, way before I started beefing up the suspension.

8 tires and 4 wheels is gonna be a decent-sized chunk of change, so don't wait until the snow starts falling before you think "oh yeah, I need money for snow tires".

Cool. That price will definitely work. Do you have them on your car Pat?

Also, sorry to hear that the strut blew out.. I guess you'll have to live with buying some KYB AGX adjustable ones.... what a shame :yumyum:
