Bicycle Sports will work for me but I was not able to move my meeting earlier. I am hoping that I will be ready to drive by 4:30. If you guys want to go ahead, I understand and we could meet up at one of the restaurants near the hotel. A lot of the FTL people like to gather at the Applebees just next to the hotel on Friday.

Smart money is to bring what you think you would like. A lawn chair is definately a good idea...thanks for the reminder. I am bringing a cooler with beverages and some fruit and stuff.

Just got pulled over tonight for tint.

Remove it myself or get it done professionally?

Either way its going to suck. Maybe I'll have to get it changed to 50% if i can find a good deal

I have a friend who works at a local shop, also does some work on the side. if you like i can ask him how much for a wrx. he did my last car pretty good and didnt charge me shop price.

I removed mine myself....it is a pain in the butt but do-able.

Where did you get pulled over? Did you get a ticket or a warning?

If you find someplace that can do 50%....let me know.....I would be interested. Maybe we can get a better deal together.

Let us know....we might be interested in two cars. I removed my 35/20 % a while back after getting pulled over and given a warning. I want some level of tint back....most likely 50%.

pulled over by 19th st. NW bridge. the cop followed me from 2nd st. along 52, he had someone else pulled over on 2nd st. When i went by him, he let them go and followed me.

Read my tint at 36% (its 35% tint). Told me to get it removed within one week. Verbal warning, nothing written. Though he said I'm in the computer so if i get pulled over again for the same thing they'll give me a ticket at that time.

I may decide to go up to Midwest Auto Salon (Apple Valley) to get 50% done at some point. It's just a pain that I'll have to get it removed and then pay for more to get put back on.

 

Yeah....there is probably a little tint in the windows already to get to 36%.

I think smart money is to have the Pros remove and re-install. Getting the film off wasn't to bad....it was getting the adhesive off that SUCKED!!!

If you do decided to to to Midwest some Saturday....let me know....I would try to get mine done the same day. It bugs the crap out of me not having them tinted.

I'm anxious to see the pictures Brad took at MAM....Brad....are you listening....

jbark: let me know when you decide to sell your car. i was looking to get an '06 for the 2.5L but we'll see. i also started looking at LGTs =). im hoping to have enough saved to pay all of it off in one shot. or at least most of it.

also, i've been spotting a black gc 2.5RS at Heinz Center at RCTC Tue/Th mornings. primered hood, missing passenger side corner lamp. stromung sticker but i think stock exhaust.

 

He quoted me $175 but does not nornally carry 50%, (usually uses 35%) so he would have to order it. He can also remove the old tint for $75-100. Shoot me a pm if you would like something set up.

Thats my brother, Its actually and L but he put rs hood and coupe wing on it. We are working a finding a 2.5 engine to swap into it. Engine is stock, but it has a lot of suspension mods. Yah and no stromung exhaust

I stopped in and invited Bob yesterday but couldn't remember the dates. He had a good point that it made most sense to do the first one cuz ossifer friendly might be waiting for round 2 and three.

I may be in, dunno yet. like to get out and meet some of you guys but works got me pretty much locked up. are you planning on going the Plainview route or the fun way (60 through Zumbro Falls)?

 

I would say we'd go the "fun way" even though I got a speeding ticket there 3 years ago. But that road doesn't really compare to what's accross the boarder in Wisconsin.

We talked about you on Sunday. Pat and I assumed you fell off the frickin' Earth. Thought maybe you went and traded the Subie in for a Kia and were hanging out with the Rochester Kia crowd.

Sorry to say, I'm out. I don't get to spend much time with my GF since she moved to madison and is working on weekends. I'll probably have to do overtime anyway.
Besides that, I hate to say it, but I really don't feel comfortable driving like that on public roads. I guess I'm wimping out. I will save the near reckless driving for the track.

I'm feelin' what you're saying. I think the speed got a little excessive at times....that's why I hung at the back. I enjoyed the part about a bunch of like-minded Subaru people getting together for a drive....but I don't need the speed. You're right....thats what the track is for.

I would be willing to organized a more tame version for those that would be interested. Bob and I actually scounted out some routes last fall....south and east of Rochester that would be fun.

I would be really interested in a drive somewhere and have lunch....or breakfast....and drive back.

Just some ideas.

Yeah, that's more what I'm into. Glad you understand! I'm all about taking 25mph corners at 50mph in a 55mph speed zone, but staying on my side of the road too.
So I would be in for a drive with you guys sometime. Hopefully there's not much traffic. That's what was nice about Matt's runs - very little traffic to worry about. But still, that makes me nervous.

 

I was wondering why you were hanging back Steve. I was afraid my exhaust was smelly. (not the cars)

If you guys ever do end up heading south and/or east of Rochester, I'd be very interested, since I live down in Spring Valley. I'd even offer up my house if you're heading that way and you're looking for a place to stop/grill/eat/whatever.

A sorta legal drive is what I'd be interested in as well. I've already gotten pulled over on County Road 1 (which is a blast as a daily drive), and I was only doing 63.
