finally got my car back (brother returned from colorado) let me know when the snow fun is going on! i can't wait
^^^^ that prolly wasnt the brightest idea.... Could have PMed the #.... just lookin out for ya. Bummer, Not enough snow the get stupid in.... just have to wait until the next storm.
Not yet, bout the only thing I have planned is some PS3 action. Otherwise nothing. Unless it snows, then I might have an idea.....
@ my place, I suppose I could have a few people over for some PS3 action if everybody is as bored as I am. Just gimmie a call.
So, I am bored and looking at a new LCD tv, I found one. Got donations? lol http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8400624&type=product&id=1179877503499
i'll sell you my 50" DLP so i can buy a new one ($600 with new lamp ). i'm looking at spending a little less than $33k on a new tv - you could buy a new sti for that
lol, I am actually planning on a 42-46" (bigger if I can find a good deal) LCD in a few months. Sony or Sharp and under $2k.
Aric and I are busy so we won't be making it tonight! Also, I spotted lee yesterday on First Ave. I even honked at you!
And I honked back. Also, I honked at the idiot sitting sideways in my lane, but most of the honking was for you. And I will make it to the Binkle's.
couldn't make it- was limping back from the cities as my turbo stopped spinning again. anybody want to help me take things apart once more? Last time it worked when i put it back together- i think it's time to really figure out what's up with the turbo. thanks -drew
Maybe if I can get some help swapping out my rear coilovers with my old struts so i can get them rebuilt, I might consider helping you out.
sure thing- I can definitely help with that whenever i'm not at work. Anytime your available this weekend? Got the mercedes on the dyno today- still have a few issues to work with, but it's running great considering how custom it has become... I'm going to need to custom make my own larger diameter maf housing as well as figure out a way to trick the ecu a little bit such that i can get it to run a bit richer in closed loop (it's always in closed loop), but asides from those very minor issues all things considered it is going great! I'm sure that with those issues resolved it will make the initial goals i had for it power wise and be ready for a bit more boost and meth.. Basically, what all that means is that i can focus solely on the Subaru for the next few weeks and not have to worry about whether or not i've blown up the $$$$ engine from the other car- which is going to be necessary because it has to be in perfect running order on the 19th (ONE WEEK FROM SATURDAY) as my brother needs to take it to a race out in Colorado again. So, my turbo has stopped now 2x and is definitely leaking a lot of oil (i'm convinced the oil seal is blown at the very least). I'm thinking my best solution due to the time constraint is just to pick up a new turbo, the gm boost control stuff i've been planning, and install both sometime before next friday. I have a friday appointment to get it dyno tuned up at db. This will ensure that the car is driveable/reliable for my brother and give me a chance to get a quicker spooling turbo (i don't need a vf22 on a car in which i have no intension of tuning for more than 300 hp at the wheels). What do you guys think? Would you give the turbo that's on the car another shot? Any ideas what is up with it? It's literally just not spinning/stuck which has now happened 3x (the first time it resolved itself, the 2nd it resolved it when i took it apart and messed with it, the 3rd is now). Also, after the 2nd time i noticed very little play in the shaft of the turbo- but WAY too much oil in the intercooler. assuming things work out and i go forward with it as stated above (i basically have to decide by tomorrow) can anyone help over here? It shouldn't take all that long... Otherwise i'll be doing it at my parent's in Red Wing (i don't want to drive it all the way to my friend's place in maple grove where we did the Mercedes work). thanks -drew
I may not be available this weekend. Might be going to a football game. I'm also working with the manufacture of the coilovers to see what my options are. You are going to need a new turbo, or get this one rebuilt. I would suggest either a vf39 - used off an STI - you can find them cheap around $300 - 400. Or I have a stock td04 turbo in the garage I could sell you to get you by, but you'll need a new tune unless you change your injectors back to stock (i have those too, if you dont) - then you can run AP stage II.
ah, i'm glad you have a stock one. i do have an appointment for a new tune- but could defnitely forgo it if i'm not going to get a better turbo in time to install. then what your saying would be the easiest thing. It's just that if i go that route i'll end up having to do the whole thing yet again before the car is "done" again. -drew
got a vf39 and the gm boost control stuff on it's way. only thing i may need at this point is a new turbo inlet pipe- anyone got a stocker? mine is a bit ripped. -drew
I know Wagonsrock had a Perrin for sale awhile ago, might still have it as I dont see and end to the thread.
i'm going to make a thread- i picked one up on nasioc but it won't be here soon enough i'm afraid -drew completely shaved door handles and moldings on my friend's a4 today (pics and full custom metal widebody to come soon) and got my car torn down completely- ready for all these new parts
mmmmmm new parts nom nom nom Wish I could get some new parts for mine, I'm trying to decide if I should get some MB Quart esa-216's
