Ok where is everyone, we have no jack so we need at least eight people to lift pats car onto the cinder blocks!
I'm sitting in Southdale Mall in Edina pecking away on my laptop while Tami shops. Yeah....I'm a big dork! Sorry....won't make it. We thought it was going to be crappy weather today so we decided to come up here. Of course now it is awesome out. Steve
well, pat got most of his stuff done. my car however is still in pieces. anybody have some uppipe removing ninja skillz we can use tomorrow morning?
I think its going to be nice out today! Good day for worken on subies! Too bad I'm stuck at work again!
Well, were starting again. if anybody wants to help we could use some fresh arms. just give me a call.
Sorry...I had a road bike ride scheduled at 11:00. Just got back and cleaned up. Did you get everything back together? Steve
yup, turns out we just needed sleep. everything is together more or less (minus a heatshield or 2) and my neighbors now hear me coming from 10 blocks away instead of 5. lol now to get my maps set and tuned, almost there. also, huge thanks to Pat. thanks guy!
Im back... well at least in 2 weeks. Finally graduated and am moving back to Roch for as long as the hospitals will keep me happy. Just wondering if I have missed out on anything big or any up comming events?
OK, sorry I haven't been too active on here as of late guys. I STILL NEED TO MEET SOME OF YOU LOCALS!!!! To bring you guys up to speed: -last week I had an interview at the clinic for a job in the clinical labs as a tech, and I got the job! I'm waiting to hear back from HR as to what division they have a spot for me, but hopefully I'll hear back within the next week or two. -the toaster is all patched up and back on the road after my hit and run -I'm going up to the cities tomorrow morning to possibly pick up a really nice Specialized road bike for commuting. -I will be super busy all this weekend as I have a wedding in Fargo to go to and my best friend's college graduation is this coming saturday at Stout. -I still need to put on the longer exhaust hangers onto the toaster so that my prodrive axleback doesn't touch my trailer hitch anymore....maybe I'll go do that now..... Pic of the bike I might be picking up tomorrow: -Steve
and as such I propose that we all get together this sunday the eleventh day of may in the year of two thousand and eight for some delicious scotch eggs, and beers. mmmmmmmmmm eggs and beer. so sunday about 6, whistle binkies on the lake. not to be confused with whistle binkies in the lake....
also, congrats steve! welcome back trborex! see above post. and finally, no brad, u cannot has uppipez! not until ju admit that i is t3h greatorz!!!! and you admit that you like buttseks in airport bathroomz.
Ok nevermind on the road bike.....guy sold it out from under me tonight. Back to the drawing board..... Thanks for all the kind words guys! I can't wait to start the job. -Steve
My $0.02.....Bicycle Sports in Rochester. Disclaimier....I worked there many moons ago.....like 10 years ago. Bob the owner is an Autocross guy, a track guy and unfortunately an Evo guy...but he is a car guy none-the-less. I just bought a new (2006 left over) Specialized road bike from him two weekends ago. Carpetfiber rocks when you got old bones like me. Steve
I might be in if we get back into town in time...which we should. Going to help my sister move down in Iowa. Steve
I was just over there today actually. I used to frequent that shop when it was located on south broadway near the fair grounds all the time when I was just a young punk terrorizing the rochester hillsides on my mountain bike. They had some really good deals going on on some leftover Lemond's that I might try to swing for. Also a couple specialized bikes are on sale too that would be in my price range. -Steve
When I worked there it was still on South Broadway.....so I might recognize you. It's weird how what is "in" in bikes is so cyclical. I was big into road....then mountainbike.....now I'm back to road. I still ride my mountain bike....but I am having a blast on my road bike. Riding with a bunch of old people like myself. Unfortunately I'm sadly out of shape....I ride like my Avatar. Steve
It is very possible, though I was just a "young punk" back then. I really like mountain biking but I was looking for something that I could commute a little easier on than a full suspension mountain bike. I did it for about a year to school and it was a great workout, but I don't want to be dripping sweat every day when I walk into work. :hsugh: Plus I need something that I can get on and get a nice aerobic workout going, I need to get back in shape. -Steve
Just an FYI for anyone with a lower than normal car (most of us). Firestone south cannot get your car on the alignment rack! And they are reluctant to honor your "Lifetime alignment" if you bought it at the Uptown (north) Firestone. The Uptown Firestone can get a Lambo on their rack, but you have to get there before 5pm or the alignment guy leaves. Looks like I'll be racing there after work tonight to get it done finally. Otherwise it's make an appointment with Jeff the Alignment Guy up in the cities.
Pat~ It was good running into you at Home Depot, hopefully I will be able to get out and meet some of the other people local here to Rochester soon. -Steve
Pat I would definately go with Jeff the Alignment guy. He gets huge rave reviews on the Auto-x forums by guys that are really picky and really know their stuff. The guy knows his stuff. I also know that Brad used what used to be Automotive Procare by HyVee Barlows and was pretty satisfied. Steve
I bought the firestone lifetime alignment for my car and have used it once. I had to pull teeth to get them to put my car on the rack after I put on my coilovers. It seems that because I did modifications to my suspension they don't want to touch my car. If I plan on going up to the cities sometime this summer, then maybe I'll go to see Jeff. I'm not just going up there to see him and pay $40 and ga$ for something that I should get done here for free. I'm sure he does a great job, but how often am I going to have to drive up to see him? Granted I should be done with my suspension mods. But all I want is for them to zero out the toe, I'll mess with camber at the track.
No Bender, just Furious. It does taste better on tap, but it's not my favorite. Check out the Rogue Chocolate Stout if you're into the chewy beers.:yumyum:
Sorry guys and gals, I missed it again tonight. I didn't get home from Menomonie, WI until late and I HAD to take a shower. It was my friend's college graduation (it's been a while in the making too haha...). I'll get out and meet some of you eventually. -Steve
Who has NOT signed up for the LaCrosse Cruise!? http://www.mnsubaru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23124 Steve W? - not limited to imprezas Steve B? - not limited to subarus - or hitch a ride with someone Brad L? - are you alive?
+ 1 trillion!! if you dont go to this cruise you will all regret it..this is the best part of the club minus the fun runs. and brad (1_sic_rex) whats up with that sway bar dude? you told me i could have it on easter!!!
I will probably go but hitch a ride with someone. I don't think they really want my Honda pickemup truck along. Steve B
i'd be interested in this too as long as we have a bunch going from Roch and meeting them halfway or so.
