What are you guys doing for the 4th this year?? I know last year Josh, Aric and I went to Silver lake and saw some grown men crying and pissing on some bushes! I know I had a good time w/ Josh and Aric last year and was just thinking if you guys wanted to get together for the 4th we all could sit together or all do something together! That would be fun! Any Ideas/Plans???
I'm not sure what the plan is this year, i may end up doing the same old. could stand for something new.
well lets not do the same thing we did last year josh cause your cb redneck buddys are friggin wierd...just make a plan and lets dooo it
Well, that sucks! Sorry, I haven't got my CDL yet. I was trying to back up over your ghetto-fab spoiler. I'll do better next time.
dude, Lee...that sucks majorly bro. also, i know i still haven't gotten back down/over there...but i move at the end of next month which puts me closer, then i will have company from germany and i will probably bring her over
Ouch! Poor Lee! That sucks! Chris- You better come down and visit soon. Bring your gf w/ya. As for the 4th of July how about we all watch the fireworks together? I think Aric and I will probably park over by Viva since it will be easier to get out from and hike over to Silver lake. Is anything going on before the fireworks?
lee that sucks hardcore.... and when i say hardcore i mean it... not just that crap josh does for 20 dollars on tuesdays..... sad to see the old bugeye with a messed up frontend..... is there just cosmetic damage or did your suspension/chasiss get damaged as well????
There's no frame or suspension damage. Hell, the tire barely even shows signs of being scrubbed. I get a new fender, side marker, 1 or 2 doors, fender liner, reconditioned front bumper and fresh paint on all the new bits. I might even be getting a new wheel if they can't repair the one on it.
drink-off at Etchy's between me and some girl from the UofM. if all goes as planned, i will get onto Greg's computer and bomb the internet :ugh:
Anyone available tonight (Lee, Steve) to read a CEL for me that I just got driving back from La Crosse? Otherwise I'll have Autozone check it for me tomorrow after work. Probably Evaporative Emissions again, hopefully nothing serious.
Pat I'll be up for a while yet so if you want me to try to read it tonight, feel free to call my cell (I think you still have my number right?). I'm up late these days enjoying my last week of freedom before starting at the clinic. Just let me know, the laptop is all charged up from tweaking my boost/timing yesterday. PS- if you want, I can pull a copy of your ROM onto my laptop and disable that code if it keeps coming back up and bugging you. It's the simple check of a box and POOF it's gone for good never to bug you again. I was having some cat efficiency codes pop up after I did the uppipe and a single catted downpipe on my car, but those codes are gone now. - Steve
Sounds good, I'll be around until about 7:30 until I have to leave to go to Karate. We'll see if we can't get this taken care of for you. -Steve
We took care of it a little earlier tonight. Pat had a lot of CEL codes showing! My count was 21...... Anywho..... Pat: I think I know why your car is boost spiking after looking at your wastegate tables. I can iron it out if you want me too, but it will take a little tweaking to get it spot on, or I can set it up so that the spike to 20-21 psi is still there. After looking at your knock correction table, you are actually knocking a little bit even with the IAM down to 13. I say we get the boost nailed down to exactly where you want it then go and play with the timing. That and we can do a boost leak test too if you want. -Steve
Notice I did not specify which Steve! Either one would help me out, Steve W. was able to pull some logs and see a lot more CELs. Appreciate the offer, though, Steve B! I guess you can smooth it out unless we want to tune for 20 psi instead of 17.5... I'm sure that would take a lot more work. We should smooth it out and maybe see if we can get it to spool any earlier. If you're willing to work on it, I'll give you more beer!
It will be pretty simple to iron out the boost to keep it at 17.5, all I will have to do is change a couple values in your max wgdc table. I think it's holding 100% WGDC down low just a tad too long and the taper down to redline is allowing it to spike. I think if I just change a couple of the rpm values in the table and scale back a couple values it will work out better. Once we have that ironed out it won't take much to get you running 20 psi. I think we need to adjust some of your timing values as well, as it was showing some knock. The person who set up your original tune as it is right now actually did all the hard work so we will know if it's knocking. Basically if your knock timing advance value is less than 10.2 (or basically 10) you are seeing some knock. I'll play with it a little tomorrow and see what I can do. I vote we start at ironing out your boost issues at 17.5 psi and get the timing so you can run full IAM first, then turn the wick up on it later. As it sits with the tune, I won't be able to get it to spool any faster than it is currently, as your WGDC is already maxed out until 3500 rpm. I suppose we could play with timing or a/f ratio down low to try to get a little more spool out of it, but I don't know how much that will help. We need to do a boost/exhaust leak test to see if there are any leaks, sealing up any leaks in the system at this point is the only way I see that you will spool faster, either that or have your turbo/exhaust mani ported. That is a lot of work though. I'm always willing to work for home brew! -Steve
I am gonna go see Hancock tomorrow night at the Galaxy Cinema. It's at 7 on the mega screen or 7:30 & 8 on the other. My peeps are welcome to join mah.
Pat~ I have a revised copy of your ROM to flash to your car whenever you are ready. I tried adjusting some stuff to iron out your boost and I also took out some timing out of the base map to see if we can't keep your IAM at 16 and have the car not knock. -Steve
It's going to have to wait until next weekend or so, I'll be out of town until next Friday. Everyone have a safe and happy 4th! Josh and Nabil, don't set off any fireworks from your what what. Singed butt hair is not the most pleasant of smells - ask Lee, he knows. -P@
No worries, it'll be here when you're ready to flash/log again. I also changed your timing advance table (that fluctuates based on knock) and set it all to 7 for easy logging/tuning. Basically if your knock correction isn't 7 it is knocking. It had been set to 10 but it took too many degrees of timing out of the base timing table and left not much to be adjusted. -Steve
Started orientation at the clinic today, we went on a THRILLING coach bus tour of downtown rochester viewing all of the clinic's buildings. Get to do some more exhilarating orientation activities including (I believe) some kind of a treasure hunt. Oh well, at least I'm getting full hourly pay to sit on my butt and do nothing! :slayer: Can't wait to get in and start doing my actual job though, oh and I got pulled aside today and told I had to take out my earrings because the clinic embodies a "more conservative" look. I was following the literature I had to the T though, it said "body piercings other than the ears are not acceptable and should not be worn." I guess 5 with bigger gauge jewelry was too many for them. -Steve
New Steve, you need to basically pretend that you're working on the set of "The Golden Girls". Welcome to Rochester.
Yeah I know, I'm originally from Roch so I know how it goes. I was just trying to follow their literature to the literal word it said so as not to get on anyone's bad side, but obviously I need to add a little extra conservative blush to anything issued by the WFFMC. I really don't mind that much if they ask me to take them out, I'd just like it to be either in a formal dress code letter or have it be consistent across the board for all male mayo employees, I know I've seen several just in the last few days that have had more than the "alloted" 1 earring in place, I think even a guy or two in the lab I will be working in. No worries, I'll keep them out for the next couple days just to make the HR people happy and then consult my supervisor to see what his own opinion of it is for his lab. At least I'm getting paid to sit and watch silly power point presentations and drink coffee! -Steve
They're not that big actually, in my ears one is a 6g, 2 are a 8g, and my conchs are both 12g. Not "big" at all by normal piercing standards but for the conservative land of the mayo clinic they're probably 'too big'. Oh well. -Steve
Just get some clear plugs. That way you can keep them but they will be less visable! I'm sure Aric could help you out there!
