Okay....you got the right idea....but head back toward the Ridgeline a little. I need to be able to haul bikes and camping gear and such. I was thinking more like a Forester XT.

Let's compromise: Ariel Atom with bungie cords to hold the bikes!

Trailblazer SS? One of the fastest SUVs of all time.

    Then add boost.

Mmmmmmm Ariel Atom....you had me at Ariel Atom. If I had one of those I could chuck the bikes and camping gear cuz I would be out flying my Atom.

Appreciate the suggestion but not much of a GM person. Ideally I would have a new STI, but it's just not practical enough for my commute and lifestyle. Maybe another WRX though???

....Hence my recommendation for the Trailblazer SS. They can be had CHEAP, too. Go drive one, seriously. You may be impressed. Quite good AWD, too.

No autox in my future. Just want something fun to drive. Forester is now out. Reviews not so great on the fun factor. Apparently when they made it bigger they made it a wallowing pig.

Yeah...now if there was just more than (1) 2010 WRX of any kind in the entire state it would give me something to be excited about. Lame!

Any of you guys know of places in the Rochester area to check over a Subaru before I buy it? Mainly the head gasket and whatever else is important. The timing belt/plugs/fluids just done at 100k, and now has 105.6k, getting proof of this.

hiya steve!!! i want beers cuz yours is delicious!!!!!

timmyg - there's a few good shops in town that can do a preventative check on it.... virgils (rated one of the top shops in the state a few times), midas north by silver lake, all star auto... if your just looking for a quick eyeball i'm sure some other members could help, but if you want a legit check (leak down, cylinder pressure check, and all the recommendations with it hit up a shop

on a side note... the wife and i got new mountain bikes last night.... dropped more money then i was planning on them but then again probably the last ones i'm gonna buy in a long time.... cant wait for summer so i can tote around the little guy in one of those dorky trailer/cage things

+1 on Virgil's, my family has always taken our cars there and they do consistent quality work for good prices. They are honest and will give you a no BS answer if things need to be repaired.

Jason~ I need to get back to brewing, I haven't brewed in a few months just because I've been lazy and working on my basement instead.....I need beerz!

I'm waiting until the middle of April, just to be sure. I usually change them around that time because warmer weather wears my snow tires down, but cold weather isn't very friendly to my summer tires.

4-6" of snow this weekend - go ahead and quote me on that. We'll probably have at least one more snow beyond that as well - also black ice.

i'm with you on this.... at minimum it will be the begining of april but no earlier... last year i got to antsy and put them on early, then 3 days later i'm in the cities with the last storm of the year and nothing but sleet/ice/snow mix on summer tires.... talk about a long terrible drive back

So I'm about to take a concrete saw and chop a huge hole in the floor of my basement tomorrow..... :ugh: Got the plumber coming back on Thursday to move a drain into my utility room so I can move my washer/dryer over there for the basement finishing project........ OH BTW I hopefully will have a functional grill by this weekend!

Let us know how the concrete saw thing goes. My wife has it in her mind that we're going to put in egress windows in the basement....

To put it in a nutshell, it made a fantastic mess and my house smells like I've been running a snowmobile in the basement at WOT for an hour. The water sprayer is MANDATORY and really helped keep the dust down. Not too hard nor bad but just a ton of manual labor. I don't know how that would work for cinder blocks though, this is cutting through my slab... :yumyum:

We ran into a small snag, the drain didn't go in the direction we thought it did, so I have to cut up even more of my floor and sledge it out. Once it's all said and done it won't be a big deal but for the time being it sucks and I have managed to destroy my utility room. :eek:hnoes:

I have "old steve's" (Steve in Minnesota) spring compressors - in case someone needs to borrow them.. He has no use for them until he finally gets that lotus or miata or something.
