Okay I am doing a JDM ver 6 swap, EJ207 RHD and the whole shebangbang but i am not big in the actually tuning and I have been thinking of possibly just getting it reflashed to keep the avcs or possibly going with something like the apexi power fc. Anyone have any insight, anyone local that can tune the JDM, I don't think it would be any more difficult than the USDM, to run on our gas? I have been searching forums but i just get a headache from everyone doing their own thing.

Since when did V6 come with avcs?
    And the standard OpenECU/ECUFlash doesn't support v5/6

Well i don't know if it actually had avcs its just that i saw that ECUtek would let it keep it so i didnt know if it would have it. so are there any flashes that will work on a v5/v6 other than ECUtek? So I will probably be going with a stand alone unit then, since there aren't any decent priced flashes and i dont have to worry about avcs. anyone highly opposed to the apexi power FC with commander?

Or just wire the engine for an 02/03 WRX ECU...

Ugh, then i would have to do splicing wouldn't I? For RHD... or would it pretty much plug and play?

You can turn the v5/v6 into a usdm wrx 02-05
We did that for a member once and was able to tune with OpenECU

Fuji can get more into that

with OpenECU you can bump up the redline back to normal JDM spec right? anyone know it the pinning is the same, i saw on New England Subarus that you can plug the ej207 ecu into the usdm ej205 wiring with an ej207 engine, so i would assume that i ca run a JDM EJ207 with the JDM wiring and a USDM 205 ECU. The clip I am looking at buying has an HKS F-con S, but u need HKS to tune those

    Only V7+ have avcs

So v5/v6 can run the usdm 02-05 ecu just fine
Though, after tuning one with the stock turbo, I don't really see a point in revving it out to 8000rpm lol
    Power dies out pretty quick

If you do decide to go this route, you will need a wrx harness and ecu and a few other stuff

    Or just get a piggyback/standalone

How you wire it up will decide if you can do open source or standalone. I did that swap in 2003 when there's not much info available. My whole goal was to just get it running. Ran the engine stock and ran stock ecu. Back then there wasn't an option for running open source. If I was to do it again, I'd set it up to run USDM ecu and all the OBD needed for open source. That way you have an option for running either stock jdm ecu, USDM or standalone.

Well, how I want to do this build is. I have my 95 coupe, get a front clip v6. Completely gut the coupe, switch everything for RHD, drop in essentially everything from the v6 to the coupe, wiring harness, engine, tranny, ecu, etc, minus the ABS, I hate ABS. Now it is almost sounding like i will have to do more wiring splicing to do the RHD, over LHD, if I want to be able to flash it.

Information is readily available nowadays so it shouldn't be that hard to do.
Why RHD thou? And do they still sell front clips? It's been a while since I've ordered one.
