Roof rack question

    Over the weekend or youngest bought a 2012 six speed outback wagon. Beautiful car! He would like to utilize the roof rack with the canoe. Ideas for crossbars? Factory? After market? Any help appreciated.

    My coworker Ryan uses the stock cross bars with his canoe on his 2015. I believe it is a 12’ canoe

    I use factory forester crossbars for my canoe. (17' Alumacraft) Key is to use load stops so it doesn't slide around. I have a Yakima KeelOver kit, which is universal for any cross bar type and has almost everything you need. Only other thing I'd recommend is a pair of hood anchor straps for tying down in the front. I tie to a hitch in the rear, but the tow hook works too.
