Since I don't really do any mods or builds because in reality any WRX or STI is enough from the showroom floor to get one's license taken away. How much would it cost to take a STI and add all the internal bits ( bigger turbo, forged bla bla bla) and then the external bits. For example the kids out there that butcher their cars to get the flared fenders, front lips, canards all that bs, adding functional ducts where there wasn't any yada yada yada. Replace the roof with carbon fiber, CF wing and so forth and so on. You know what I'm getting at, do you think that all those extra bits this car has and let's not forget the Bilsteins, the custom designed rubber...could it reach 20k?? I can assume pretty close, especially the exterior work is really pricey from what I have been researching. All that being said, most likely people close to my age or older who figure that they are saving time and throw in another 5k$ for exclusivity. Just imagine next summer how many C8's will be tooling around driven by the 60 something crowd with socks pulled up and shorts. Not to mention the Audi's, Teslas, and Porsches. There isn't a commute where I don't see all 3 of those. Not saying I approve, just trying to make sense.

you won't see 60 somethings in C8s probably, they're all too busy bitching and moaning that it isn't a Corvette anymore since it doesn't have a v8 up front.

So you’re saying that they are as silly as an S209 buyer then.

In discussing with my older son last night he is of the opinion that the buyers must be convinced that this will be as close as they can get to owning a unicorn a la 22B which when sold go for double the price or higher..

To be an "investment" you would need to wait like 20 years.

The Subaru pricing for the special things on the RA (Well really only the wing) was specced at $4,000. Not saying you couldn't find it for cheaper somewhere else. I am assuming a CF roof would be something that might be a bit pricey, engine mods I'm sure aren't the cheapest, and all the extra bits... I'm assuming the price they charge reflects some of that, but I am also assuming that if they use any specialized machinery to put the car together is passed along to the consumer as well.
