I was going to get awdftw, but i think i'll pass. I'm thinkin about getting the critical habitat plates. Someone told me (and i'm sure it's not fully true) that cops are less likely to pull you over or give you a ticket with those. I'm assuming if your rollin in the "support our troops" plates you could get away with speeding and just get a warning. Anyone have any $.02 on this?
This is where i miss montana. If you were a org, you could get a custom plate. Look at this page, go about half way down where they talk about the Sponsored Plates. http://www.doj.mt.gov/driving/licenseplates.asp On the right, you'll see the grouping by type. You think about it, they have it. The way i'm reading the page, if our club was in montana we would have a good chance of getting a club special plate.
It would be nice to have more then the 2 options we have for specialized plates that go to a group. If they had something that went to donations for the humanine (sp?) society I'd get that in a heartbeat.
I think i will go to DMV tomorrow and see if i can get BUGILUV. So if i already paid $99 for the tabs and new license(that i dont want) will i have to pay another 100 for the custom stuff?
Look at it this way, the "X" plates are relatively rare. Usually MNDOT doesn't issue X series plates for general use, but because they're changing process right now, they don't want to switch to the "123 ABC" (vs the "ABC 123") pattern until the new process is on-line. So having "X" plates is a little more exclusive than your average run of the mill plate. "XET" here.
Firefighter plates will usually get you out of trouble, as long as you aren't driving drunk, doing 150 in a school zone while hanging out the window naked and firing a gun into a crowd or driving in an otherwise stupid manner. I have never heard anything said about Critical Habitat plates, nor about the Supporting the Troops plates. I would venture to guess that the Troops plates would have a better chance.
yeah i guess KGB would work. I just thought that if i get WRX or Bugiluv stuff it is too specific and if i get a new car will be irrelevant.
