not entirely. they are an outside uninvolved view. they are more likely to be biased than our own media.

just because some other country that supports us says somthing that says we did something bad doesnt mean they are biased agenst us soundenly. they are giving an outside view. your best friends can tell you to your face that you did somthing ****ed up and would you just say that their bias agenst you and cut them off? haha

people here in the states seem to only think with their heart and not with their heads. as if we as the united states, the super power of the world couldnt ever make a mistake. we are so ignorant its sick.

Man, that really sucks. The worst thing is that insurance companies will try to cancel your policy as hard as they can. And when you go to other company they will look at your record and will make your insurance high as a sky.
This is just unbelievable that insurance companies and medical companies are making money on our health.

Wow, man you are brutal. So why is US in Iraq then? I though US was there to make them a happier nation. Bring oh-so-good democracy. Or maybe some oil from them?

Like capitalist government is so good. Have you been to Finland or Sweden? I did many times.

Once again Taras, you went 0 for 2 in reading comprehension. Congrats.

My first comment went right over your head. I wasn't saying that it would be useless for us to be in Darfur. I was commenting on our nations proclivity towards protesting anything and everything. It doesn't matter what the cause is, there is always going to be someone protesting against it. The argument that we're doing this for oil is always the fallback position for people like you. Doesn't make it true though. Putting lives on the line to ease human suffering has always been part of the job description for every military person, every police/fire/EMS responder and every aid worker that's ever put on the uniform. Some people are willing to risk everything for complete strangers in the interest of making their lives better. What have you ever done? Don't give me your "Bring oh-so-good democracy" ****. If it's that bad then what are you doing here? Oh, I forgot. It's because of that democracy that our nation is where it is today, and Russia is digging themselves out of the hole they put themselves in. Or digging back into it depending on how you look at it.

The second swing and a miss was my comment on going to war with China. Our situation with them was completely different back in 1941. Ever heard of the American Volunteer Group (better known as the "Flying Tigers")? They were American pilots who flew for the Chinese Goverment. The Doolittle Raiders were supposed to land in China after bombing the Japanese. In other words, they were our allies. What sense would it have made for us to attack them? It was a stupid argument. They weren't a Communist country at that point, we supported them throughout the war.

Bang up argument on Finland and Sweden. What's your point?

Here's something I found for you.

well, your comments are confusing. I think the whole argument about the war between you and me is not going anywhere. I respect your view, buri disagree with it. I am not trying to change your view and tell you how you should be looking at this. It seems like you have an answear for every comment/question me and other people are making here.

Ok, no need for personal attacks on here, Brian. You may not agree with Taras' opinion, but no need to insult his intelligence or his heritage.

I will again suggest the book Confessions of an Economic Hitman by John Perkins. If you can believe he is not lying, his book is a very good springboard for most informed American's to understanding what has happened to America since WWII.

We're all wrong. We're all misinformed. Nothing is what it seems. Your opinions are all moot.

Your government...is a government that wants you to be SCARED, STUPID, DRUNK, DILUTED, and DYING. You know why? Because people that are even just one of those things, don't put up much of a fuss. They want you in fear and consuming. Now go 'vote' for your favorite purveyor of FEAR. Don't forget to fill up your gas tank before you go...and lock your doors!

Wonderful. He's got his opinion, I've got mine. I simply chose to express my opinion through the subtlety and humor of pictures rather than typing out a long post.

welp, thats the end of this thread.

Brian, I'm glad we're on the same wavelength. Believe me when I say we share our views with nearly everyone in a serving base.

I don't doubt that for a second Jack. It's one thing to talk about things, it's another to actually go and do. Semper Fidelis brother.

no one was ever talking poorly about our troops. i respect the troops to their fullest. if the enlisted suicide rate is so dramaticly high right now, id say your opinions arent as shared as you might think. my fathers friend is in the army and told me that the war is rediculous. he says that a lot of once very conservative soliders have become extremely liberal after serving. and the same goes for a bunch of vets that i have had classes with. VERY Liberal now.

like i said b4 though. the best ideas come from compramise. not either on the far left or right. the world is not all black and white. if only people could make compramises we could get a lot more done and things would be better

It means the thread is deaaaad.

And yes, I'm sure there are plenty of troops who decide to change their views. Some get good duty, some get poor. Some really arent cut out for the lifestyle, and some find things they would rather do with their lives before their contracts are up.

Some buy into the whole soldiering thing, and some believe they are being brainwashed. Some of us dont mind that we're "brainwashed." If being an idealist and thinking you can make an impact on a cause you really, really believe in is being brainwashed, count me in. I'm still young, I've got a lot to learn, and I sure as hell hope I dont become less passionate about the things I care about as I grow older.

You can also talk to how many soldiers lost their faith, and how many gained faith through war. There are many sides to every argument, especially this one.
