Anyone have a tried and true easy way to clean the salt out of the carpet from the winter slush?

    Thanks

Take them out and use a carpet cleaner. If you mean the "carpet" built into the car then just use repeated cleaning with water to dissolve it and soak it up with rags. The carpet is so synthetic that salt isn't going to hurt it much. You run more risk of it going bad by letting organic stuff rot in the carpet. I picked up the heavy duty rubber floormats for my LGT when I first bought and used those all winter to avoid the salt and junk that snow would track in.

take it to a do-it-yourself carwash - use the pressure washer soap on them! squeegie out the water with a snow brush/scraper - leave out in the sun to dry.

I use Weathershield mats (really foot-well tubs) for this reason in the winter. Carpet stays unmolested.
