Anyone knows what this sound might be? It's from a 2012 wrx? Car doesnt boost when this happens but sometimes goes away randomly.

Mods are catless downpipe, intake, uppipe, ebc controller and forge bpv.

    Thanks in advance!

Who tuned it? Or are you running an AP?

That 2nd video sounds like a loose heat shield.

The heat shield is loose, but in the first video you can see me holding on the the heat shield, so I dont think that it. :(

I've looked at a few videos and it sounds similar to some of what they're thinking which is lifter tick and exhaust manifold leak, but not sure.

My first thought was lifter tick.

Is it coming specifically from the turbo? If you aren't getting boost while the noise is there, it may be a stuck open waste gate actuator? Just throwing something at the wall.

It sounds like it, but I still hear it at idle.

Would you still expect to hear this noise when idle?

Not sure. I'm just thinking out loud saying this so take it with a grain of salt, but maybe the noise is the waste gate stuck open and the actuator trying to close it?

*Edit* Listening back to the videos I don't think this is the issue.
